“Inexpensive Comfort Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were just driving through Logan and it was dinnertime, so decided to stop at The Olde Dutch. I didn't expect much; I've eaten at numerous "Amish-themed" restaurants and they are all pretty much the same. The Olde Dutch had more of the same, but also the option to order off the menu. I had turkey, which was plentiful and moist. Husband had Liver 'n' Onions, which he said was very well prepared.

The buffet line was very busy and while often restocked, no one took the time to clean up around it. Thus, spilled food was quite prevalent; I stepped on croutons on the way out.

Service was quite good.

I did get a bit of an "outsider" vibe, as we were driving a foreign car and dressed differently from the predominantly local crowd. No one was rude, but there were a number of stares from other patrons. I don't mind that sort of thing, but I know that others do.

In short, if it's the right time of day as we're in the area, we'd stop again. There aren't many non-fast food options in this area of Ohio.

“Just average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

Our family visited The Olde Dutch Restaurant for lunch on a Thursday. The service was prompt and friendly, but the food was a disappointment. We had been there several months earlier and thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but this time, the food was bland tasteless.

“Food poisoning”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

The restaurant has a large buffet. We ordered off the menu in order to try not to over eat. The menu was uninspiring. Two of us had the exact same meal, the only difference was I ate the cole slaw. Within the hour I was quite ill. It suggests that they were not keeping their food at the proper temperature.

“Over the Top Thanksgiving”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Went here for Thanksgiving dinner, $14.95 for everything and everything was wonderful!!! They do not take reservations and they were packed but only had to wait 20 minutes. Very friendly and excellent service.
This is our second visit in three years. We will certainly return next time in the Hocking Hills area.
