“Nice surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

I got this room through Hotwire, where this was listed as a four star hotel with a high recommendation rating, but we were not sure what to expect. We were surprised with a fabulous suite with two queen beds and a separate living area with a nice sectional couch and its own TV, as well as mini fridge and microwave. There was a Keurig with a nice selection of K-cups rather than a typical hotel coffee maker. The room was spotless and the decor looked very up-to-date and new, and it kind of had a Cape Cod/East Coast feel to it. A free breakfast was not listed as an amenity, but we were given vouchers upon our arrival. The breakfast would have been worth at least $10-15 in my opinion. It was a buffet with several options, nice presentation and an omelet station. The atmosphere of the breakfast room was not typical of a hotel. It was a separate building that required a short walk, but was more reminiscent of a yacht club atmosphere than a typical cramped hotel breakfast area. There was even a waitress who served our drinks, cleaned our plates as we finished, etc. I know this resort is used for weddings and it would be a beautiful location for this purpose. There is a gorgeous pond with fountain, as well as an outdoor pool area. The entire property is gorgeous, and located off a slight winding street that makes you forget you are right in the hustle and bustle of a major shopping area. That shopping area is another benefit! You are minutes away from a huge variety of restaurants by either going East to Polaris area or slightly South to Worthington. It is just a 3-5 minute drive from a great mall, and about 10 minutes to the quaint downtown of Worthington. If you need to go further into Columbus, you are still only 15 minutes away from the more major attractions. I will stay here again, and probably be willing to pay full price as I think it was worth more than I paid (and it is not often I can say that!).

We got a very good rate from Hotwire and expected a basic room, but we were given a one bedroom suite with two queen beds. No free breakfast was listed on Hotwire, but we were delighted when given breakfast vouchers for the restaurant. It was a great buffet with made to order omelets. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Very good bed. Nice towels. The grounds were lovely. Wish we had time to use the outdoor pool. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful.

The WRFD radio network started their broadcast from a classic colonial style building along North High Street at the north end of Columbus in the days when TV was black and white and radio was king. The Nationwide Insurance group built a first class hotel and convention center that they used for their staff to attend retreats and training programs. They remodeled and opened up this complex to the public in 2012. The complex is hidden from the highway along a scenic winding street that leads into a gated resort center. The hotel is 4 floors of luxury rooms that were clearly recently remodeled with contemporary designs and high end electronics. Direct TV in each room is very cool. The restaurant rivals a southern california site over-looking a fountained pond and manicured grounds. The breakfast buffet was first class and the endless omelet bar was a big hit with all the guests. The WRFD themed country tavern is worth a visit and a cool draft.

The resort lures the wedding reception crowd to their convention center. We attended meetings in this center and were amazed with the first rate quality of this classic old colonial style building that has been up-dated to Vegas caliber features. The staff set up a break time treat in the lobby of the meeting center that offered 4 varieties of coffee, hot tea, and yogurt with toppings to add. Wow, what an impressive lobby display atop a granite island that clearly has a permanent place in the lobby.

I would highly recommend the resort for any meeting, any special occasion or any possible stay. But, be prepared to wait at check-in if arriving in the five o'clock hour because the college student intern staff was more interested in chatting up their co-workers than showing me any professional attention and jumping at the chance to complete a speedy check-in. And don't bother asking the former "Hooters Girls" at the front desk any questions about events at the hotel - they are clueless.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid of first floor rooms because this hotel was built well and well insulated. Ask...

Northpointe is a great place for a conference or a company meeting. The hotel room was conveniently arranged though not spacious. I thought the food, which was served buffet style at several food stations, was very good. Lovely grounds too and a pool.

Stayed 2 nights with the Zoo package which included breakfast each day and two 1 day tickets for the wife and I, no complaints that I can think of. I believe the Zoo package saved us some money overall. This was right after Memorial day so things were a little slow there, I don't know how it would be if it was really busy. But overall a nice and clean environment.

We've stayed here twice and have had good experiences both times. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the extra space is much appreciated in the king suite. The breakfast is top notch with many choices and to go boxes if you're short on time. Directly across the street is Highbanks Metro Park which is a great place to take a walk or run. There are trails where no bikes are allowed and it's great to run without worrying about being in the way. We will definitely be back!

The hotel and conference center were both top notch. I had a King Suite which had two rooms. The living area had a large, comfy sectional couch with a BIG flat screen tv. The desk area was well equiped and guests can even access the flat screen tv for use as a computer monitor. The king sized bed was very comfy. The bathroom area was clean and comfortable. The shower water pressure was great and the towels were fluffy and plentiful. I appreciated having a fridge and microwave in the suite and was pleasantly surprised to find a Keurig coffee maker.

My experience in the conference center was just as pleasant. The meeting rooms were well organized with comfortable seating. The food and beverages provided for breakfast and breaks were fresh and interesting with a variety of healthy choices. The lunch buffet was exceptional. During the two days I was there, the food choices varied and were tasty, plentiful and interesting. The dining room staff were very friendly and very attentive. We went to the adjacent "Pub" and were pleased with the staff and menu choices (although limited, very tasty choices).

A first rate experience and choice for a conference although I also saw the staff setting up for a large wedding on a Saturday and it seemed to be a great place for that too.
