Stayed there for one night & booked a room for 4 adults. Paid extra AUD50 for the extra 2 adults, but didn't get extra toiletries and towels. The 1 double and 2 bulk beds are all in one room. The room hasn't been updated for a while. All in paid 225 for one room, bit pricy for that condition.

Swansea_TasmaniaSmi, receptionist at Swansea Motor Inn, responded to this review, January 24, 2011
I would like to say that the most that 4 adult guests would pay for one of our bunk rooms is $149/night, never $225 as stated in this review. This is made up of $99 for first 2 guests and $25/ per extra adult X2. Usually the bunk rooms are used for families not 4 adults unless there are no other rooms available in which case the bedding arrangements would have been explained to the guests. Extra linen is available in the cupboard the room and there is a notice in the compendium saying to ask at reception if anything is needed.

We stopped at this motel on spec, it is the first one you see as you come into Swansea and were so glad we did. The location is great, right on the beach, the room was large as was the bathroom. There were no cooking facilities in the room but there was a microwave in the a laundry and one available to hire from reception. The staff were very helpful about where to go, where to eat, and what to see; we stayed two nights in the end and visited Freycinet Park. There is a lovely walk around the headland from the motel.

Although this hotel is a little tired, the views and the sense of space more than make up for the 1980's decor. At $90 per night, this was a really pleasant stay and certainly as good as the much more expensive motel right next door. We booked through hotel club and received an unrequested and free upgrade to an ocean view room. If it doesn't come free, pay the extra $5 for the view. The reception staff were really friendly and we were certainly made welcome. As we visited before Christmas (out of the holiday peak), things may have been easier. There is little in Swansea itself but the coast either side is spectacular. For a budget stay on a beautiful peace of coast and a comfortable bed - recommended.

Stayed here for one night - paid just $75 for a budget room. Despite being on a bend on the main road, it was quiet - good sized bed and comfortable matress. Short walk down to the beach and fantastic view across the bay. Would definitely stay here again!

Swansea is friendly little town with a central location for touring and the staff at the motel know all the most interesting places to visit. The motel is right on the beach with wonderful sea views and good free BBQ facilities. It is not 5 star but is very clean and comfortable with nice room furniture and gardens to the beach.

Stopped over to rest after driving from Port Arthur. We got there at around 8.15pm. I found the ladies at reception (both at night and next morning) really pleasant, professional and best of all genuinely nice.
The room was spacious with a comfy bed and quite a big balcony with a good view. That's all we needed and we got a good night sleep. At $80 walk in rate not bad at all :)

Very quaint! We enjoyed our stay at this establishment. Not all the rooms face the ocean though, so be careful. Our room was very clean and comfortable.
