A warm welcome, outstanding home cooked Australian cuisine just like my grandma cooked accompanied by a wonderful wine selection, this cosy cafe is popular with locals as well as touring visitors. In central Strahan directly across the roundabout from wharves where cruises to the World Heritage Gordon River depart. People queued waiting for a table both nights that we were lucky enough to eat there. On the second night, Bumpy unexpectedly gave us the remains of the bottle of wine we were drinking to enjoy upstairs.
Yes, three rooms are available upstairs. Our suite 1 was fabulous. A spotless, colonial styled chalet with a snuggly queen sized bed stepped down into a charming lounge room with a large television and wifi. Lying on cushions across the bay window watching life go by on the foreshores of the huge Macquarie harbour below was a brilliant way to relax and enjoy the warmth of this welcoming cafe/ accommodation. I have posted many TA reviews. Staying and eating here is a must do. Thankyou Bumpy- we left early and I was not able to do so personally. Yours is a genuine desire to make everybody who enters Bushman's feel like family- bravo.
