The Purple Possum has always been a good spot for a light lunch. Vegetarian features strongly on the menu in a range of styles - pies, quiche, burgers... My last visit was disappointing compared to my previous ones. My pie was warm but could have been much more so on a cold winter day - this is a pervasive feature of many Tasmanian pie servings. Not helped by the plate having not been pre-heated, and having to ask for the relish which was on the menu as part of the dish. Most disappointing was the salad, which from memory cost about $6 when added to the pie. It was undressed and absolutely mean in proportion to one I got that same evening for the same price but was three times the size, more varied, and very nicely dressed. It just wasn't working there today, which is a pity as the pie was really nice.
