“Comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Room was comfortable but noisey, near reception, dining and bar area. Thinking of taking a swim pool area was unloved. Gardens around complex needed some loving. We had breakfast on both mornings and was disappointed with the communication we received from the staff and on the second morning was only able to have the bufett breakfast which would have been ok except there was really nothing left and what was left was all dried up. Staff member was really enjoying her breakfast at the dining desk.

It looked great in the brochure. On booking we were advised there was an extra cost for a water view, well our room was ground floor and our "water view" was a stagnant area of water with overgrown grass and weeds all over the place totally ripped off. The floor boards are very noisy, you can hear every foostep in adjoining rooms and corridor. Then to top the night off we could hear the "activities" of the couple in the next room. When this was mentioned at checkout the staff member laughed and said yeah Im not sure how we get around that, how very professional and showed complete lack of customer service. Will never set foot in the door and would not recommend.

Room Tip: Dont go there ! Or if you do and want the "water view" dont accept a room on the ground fl...

I think most people stay here as there is not much of an alternative and so this is reflected in the price.
It's well situated and our room (on the second level) had a great outlook. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable buts that's about it. The pillows were well past their use by date. The bathroom floor is sloped away from the drain so when there is a splash from the spa bath, the floor floods and doesn't drain. We had to use 1 of our only 2 towels to soak up the water.
The walls are paper thin and you hear people in adjoining rooms, outside doors etc. I suggest you take ear plugs for a good nights sleep.
We were only here for 1 night and I could at best, call it adequate.

Room Tip: I would suggest getting a room away from the reception and upstairs to minimise noise from the corri...

We were quite nervous about staying here with all the negative reviews so more than pleasantly surprised by our experience. Stayed with our son and daughter in law for two nights over Easter and had a terrific time. Yes they are short staffed and yes don't expect there to be first class service however on the up-side the staff were a delightful bunch especially the Argentinian couple and the young woman from St Marys. We ate dinner there both nights and couldn't fault any of our meals except to say the pasta dishes were huge. We had water front rooms in the end block, large, clean with a great view across the bay. YES as previous reviews pointed out the walls are a tad thin and you can here some noise from the other rooms, yes the fan does go on when you put the bathroom lights on and yes the fire alarm in the bathroom especially does operate like something from Dr Who.. However all in all we had a really super time totally relaxed and if it hadn't been for the Indian cooking smells wafting from other rooms in our block I would have said one of the best times away I have had in a long time considering I arrived very stressed I certainly will be back..T

Room Tip: I would definitely negotiate for a water view room and even though it is a bit of a walk I would sug...

A group of us stayed there .The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable ( king size) . We had a set price for the weekend per person, and I feel that it was very overpriced. A few of us went down to the bar for a coffee and a drink. The service was terrible. They knew there was alot of us and there was 1 person to serve drinks, it took her ages, the coffee was cold and overpriced so we went to another bar elsewhere.
The evening meal was not nice and not a great deal to choose from. The chicken for the salad was stone cold and looked proocessed. The vegetarian lasagne was not cooked. the only thing I did eat was the brownie. The staff seemed to have no idea of what they were doing.
The breakfast was only ok .
Would not recommend this hotel. It is looking old and tired, needs an update,

We stayed for 2 nights last weekend, the room was clean and quite large as was the bathroom, but had the smallest shower I've ever seen, tiny little corner unit. I doubt there is any insulation between the rooms or the floors, as you can hear everyone walk up and down the corridor plus talking in the rooms beside and above you.
The location is good over looking the water, we didnt use the dining room, but sat out on the deck at the bar which was nice. The pool was good, it was a very warm day so a nice place to hang out for a while, there was a small lawn area at the end of the pool, but could have had been mown, looked like it hadnt been for a while, the weeds would have been about 30cm!
The garden areas around the resort were very tired looking, apart from the front entrance areas, there were loads of weeds among the bushes and over grown, its a shame because it could look so good.
Apart from that it was a nice weekend, had great weather, not sure we'd hurry back though.

Tidal Waters was a really relaxing place to stay. It was quiet and laid-back. My room was super-comfy, and had a great view out over the water. The food was superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's also close to lots of great sights, bush walks and beaches. I thoroughly recommend it!!!

Room Tip: The water view rooms are fabulous.
