“Nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2012

A very nice place, quiet and cozy. We have a free upgrade to a deluxe room upon check-in simply because they were not full that night. So nice! A very relaxing and refreshing place to recharge your batteries after having a day walk in Cradle Mountain. The room is spacious and comfortable. It is also a bonus to find an alpaca farm right next to the hotel.

This is a great motel with spacious rooms, quiet location a friendly reception staff. The rooms provide clean, basic motel facilities at a reasonable price, and are handy to many attractions including Cradle Mountain (1 hr thru picturesque country -- recommend to take the Claude Road - Gowrie Park - Cethana - Moina Park route to Cradle which is windy and beautiful and the Moina - Staverton - Roland straighter route back so you get the best of both).

If you are stuck for ideas, the motel owners provide local knowledge of the best tourism and food options in the area. We had a relaxing couple of nights here, and definitely recommend it.

Stayed here after a day at Cradle Mountain. Very convenient location, in a beautiful area of Tasmania. Was very easy to then drive to next destination the next day as well.
Fantastic room - great for an overnighter like we had. Plenty of space, comfortable large bed, huge TV....
Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Good value as well. Highly recommended!

We stayed here, like all our accommodation choices, based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, and as usual, we were not disappointed.

It's a motel, so don't expect 5 star luxury. But having said that, what do you expect from a motel? A spacious room that is spotlessly clean, a hot shower, cooking facilities, a very large flat screen TV, breakfast by order etc are all present and accounted.

What my wife and I enjoyed the most though, was the owners allowed us in to the adjoining paddock, and allowed us to feed and interact with their alpacas and sheep. That's not to mention the excellent views of Mount Roland in the background.

So, for $134 for one night over Easter, we had a wonderful stay in a motel that had a central location, and ticked all the boxes for us. We highly recommend it, and we will definitely stay here if we ever in the area.

This is a wonderful place. A friend and I stayed in the standard motel room and it was exrremely clean and had all the basic necessities. Electric blanket was useful. A lovely, comfortable room and very reasonably priced. Would stay again!

The management were very helpful and the rooms had a microwave , and full kitchen service. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom pleasant. It was 2 minutes from the centre of town which was a delight to walk around viewing the murals.

A decent place to stay if you're on your way to Cradle Mountain. The retreat is a short walk from the pub, shops etc in Sheffield. Rooms were clean and spacious, though quite basic.
