Stopped at Marakoopa Caves near Mole Creek on the way to Cradle Mountain. Did the Underground Rivers & Gloworms tour (first tour of the day). Many impressive stalagmites and stalactites, forming all sorts of interesting patterns.
The gloworms are in the first chamber so there's no photography there but you can take pictures in the other sections. On the way back you stop again in the gloworm chamber and all the pathway lights are turned off for a few moments so you can fully appreciate the glowing spectacle.
It is also a constant 9 degrees C in the caves, which we enjoyed immensely after days of hot weather, but you might want to bring a jacket.
Very glad we made the effort to fit this into our day and we were impressed by the enthusiasm of the guide. Would love to do one of the other tours if we're ever back that way.
