“Can't wait to return.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

I can't recommend The Cove enough, we only stayed for 2 nights but could have happily stayed much longer. Bronwyn, the host is a perfectionist and this makes for a very special stay from the food to the room to the beautiful location.
Rooms are large and well furnished, immaculately clean and the under floor heating is a treat. The daily homemade chocolate are delicious.
We had dinner on our first night which I would recommend, the food was excellent, all local produce and homemade made for a lovely meal.
Bronwyn's breakfast is the best way to start your day.
We will most definitely return.
Thanks bronwyn and Lucy for a great stay.

This is an excellent place from which to visit Bruny Island or in fact many other places down the Channel Highway area. The attention to detail in the room was very welcome; Bronwyn gave us a fabulous dinner one night, and the breakfast was really fresh and delicious.

We stayed at The Cove for two nights at the end of March 2013. It is in the small coastal town of Kettering, not too far from Hobart to be a nuisance, but far enough for city life to be out of your mind while you stay. It is run by Ross and Bronwyn, who have had years of experience in managing accommodation of various sorts - it shows! Bronwyn was a pleasure to deal with, lightening fast responses and a wealth of information on the local area. She was away for the birth of their first grand child but Ross had no problems holding up the fort. He admitted to being new'ish in cooking the amazing hot breakfast, but you wouldn't be able to tell - they were delicious! Best way to start the day.

We had recently completed the Overland Track and were in need of relaxation. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculate, from the heated flooring and hand rails, to the handmade fudge replaced daily, we were pampered. The view of the sunrise through the huge sliding doors in front of the bed was a welcome surprise the next morning.

We would definitely recommend hiring a car to make the most of the location. There is an abundance of wineries and dairy farms within 30 mins drive, a fair few are only 10 mins away.
There are buses but they aren't regular and would almost add up to the cost of hiring a car after a few days.

We had dinner the first night at the Hotel down the road, while it had a very nice view, the food was slightly over priced for the quality. Good sized servings though. The second day we just drove into Hobart for the Salamanca Markets and stayed through till dinner and drove back after. A wider range of dining options made this a better option for us.

Ross was the perfect host for the duration of our stay, very easy going. We had a great weekend and would recommend The Cove to friends and family! Only thing we could say would be maybe some furniture out on the balcony's? Not a massive issue though. The couch just inside the room was comfy =)

Room Tip: You will love any room, they all seem to share the same layout, facilities and view.

Just enjoyed a blissful couple of day break at The Cove. Spacious, well appointed accommodation with magnificent views. The real gem however is the warm welcome and wonderful care lavished by Bronwyn. Great breakfasts cooked to order with fabulous fresh produce and homemade specialties, nothing was too much trouble. I've already convinced my parents they need to stay there on their next trip!

Recently spent four days in Tasmania with my two daughters. We spent a night in Hobart followed by a day of horse riding and then headed down to Kettering. Bronwyn and 'Molly' were the perfect hosts. In our room we found yummy home made chocolates and fresh tea and plunger coffee. After a great nights sleep in comfy beds and a beautiful breakfast we went kayaking. 'Roaring 40's Ocean Kayaking' took us for a great paddle down the coast. Bronwyn is a great cook so when booking plan to eat in at night. Thanks again for looking after us and sharing your recipes and gardening tips. Maryke, Alice and Emma

Enjoyed the cove on our honeymoon...never hungry! Beat sleeps! Best food... Home cooking. Fresh ingredients out of the garden!
Even Molly the dog was gorgeous! Can't wait to go back!
They also do couples weekends away which would be terrific! These lovely people bronwyn and Ross know what they're doing!
