“Good value and close to ferry to Bruny Island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

This was a last minute decision and came across the inn at night looking for somewhere to stay. Had a great meal and got a room that had its own bathroom. It was basic but clean with magnificent views over the harbour. Staff friendly and the locals in the pub there gave us great tips on where to go to eat at Bruny. Very close to the ferry making it easier to get the early one over to the island. A nice little find.

Stayed overnight in one of the ensuite rooms. A basic room but with well kept and clean, with everything you'd need, and at a bargain price. To top it off, a view over the boat harbour to great you in the morning.
The hotel staff were hospitable and friendly, and were prompt to take and serve the evening meal order. A fairly regular hotel meal menu but really well cooked and presented, with generous servings. The dining area looks out right over the harbour and its a great spot to dine or have a refreshments.
Definitely worth a visit if you are traveling around the Channel Highway.

Room Tip: Ask for the ensuite with a view

This Australian pub has good menus and specials. The sizes of portions are generous. Also a good wine selection. There are two areas - the bar includes tables outside for eating and the dining room which also has outside tables, but we were told that these are not for eating at. However, it was an extremely hot evening and in the end the waitress relented and nearly everyone moved out of the dining room to eat on the terrace. Would definitely eat here again

The menu is quite varied and the food is really delicious. The windows are clean and the view over The marina is very beautiful . We had the seafood platter which is definitely enough for 2 to share.
Only surprising thing is the minimal offering of Tasmanian wine on the wine list. Overall I would definitely eat here again..

We have dined a couple of times at the Oyster Cove Inn recently. Both times we experienced friendly and timely service and the food was delicious, tasty and definately fresh. Good variety on the menu with good size portions leaving (us) no room for desert! The quality and presentation of the food is very good.

Downside: As there are exceptional views over the marina from the restaurant which obviously draws the customers attention, it then becomes very apparent that the windows need cleaning. Also the restaurant looked a bit tired and dirty - stains on carpet prevalent for exampe.

Overall, as a family group we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and no doubt will return and recommend to others

This is my 3rd visit to the Oyster cove Inn this year and each time has been exactly the same. Great meal at a good price with a friendly welcome from lovely staff and an awesome view across the bay. This is a fantastic place to stop for a meal.

My colleagues and I held a lunch meeting at this hotel and loved it. The food was reasonably prices, generously served and came to the table hot fresh and very tasty. Everybody raved about their meals. This is certainy a place to check out when looking for a good lunch spot, driving through the Channel region or if waiting to board a Buny Island Ferry.
