The Oyster Cove Inn at Kettering in the south of Tasmania has a view to die for. It has two lovely big decks that look over the marina (where the Bruny Island Ferry comes in) that you could sit an admire the view from all afternoon.
Apparently the hotel has recently changed owners and from reading previous reviews, they have obviously made an effort with the accommodation. We stayed in a double room for $110, which was very clean and modernised. It had a ensuite, heater, TV, bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities. It was a pretty cold night, so the heater and electric blankets came in very handy!
It appears that they also have cheaper, back packer style rooms also that share communal bathroom facilities.
The meal we had was beautiful, more bistro style than a pub meal, with great Tasmanian beef produce. My Cape Grim steak was melt in your mouth.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with great knowledge of other Tasmanian destinations!
If we were in the area, we would definitely stay there again.
