“We loved it. Couldn't be happier.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

We stayed in the Bellevue Studio, a large room in which we were very comfortable. The service was excellent, all our clothes were washed and returned to us nicely folded in the evening. That was very much appreciated. Every afternoon two slices of homemade (and incredible) cake was delivered.

Daniel and Nadia were very friendly and were happy to answer any questions we had about the area. I would recommend it to anyone travelling in Tasmania.

My husband and I stayed at the Huonville guest house for one night after a winery tour in the Huon Valley. We stayed in the Sakura room which was lovely. The room and gardens were beautiful however I would not stay at the Huonville Guest house, or in Huonville again.

The website says that they will drive you to anywhere within a 10km radius. As we had been on a winery tour and couldn’t drive, we utilised this offer for a lift to town for dinner, however we felt uncomfortable that we were intruding on the owners night.

We were disappointed to find that we only had 2 options for dinner - take away pizza and a pub which was a 20 minute drive away. Although we understood that it was a Sunday night in a small country town, we were disappointed that the owners hadn't forewarned us that there were limited options for dinner. If we had known, we would have bought some nice cheese and bread etc during our winery tour to have in our room with some wine. Instead, we had take away pizza.

It is the small touches - such as informing guests that there is nowhere for dinner, or even offering a platter of cold meat/cheese - that makes B&B's truly special. Unfortunately, Huonville guest house did not provide this.

A final comment is that we realised several days after leaving the Guesthouse that we left the wine we purchased during our winery tour in the room. Given that we were the only guest staying there, it would have been nice for the owners to call to let us know this.

YOU JUST CAN'T PLEASE SOME PEOPLE
We at the Huonville Guesthouse are the only B&B in the Huon Valley that offers the service of driving people to and from venues. And we have done so graciously in the 3 years of operation.
We consider ourselves very hospitable and we always go out of our way to help people with information about the area.
On the evening of the 15th May, the guests (TeeTree36) enquired about somewhere to have a "simple" meal. I informed the guests that in Huonville on a Sunday night there was a choice of a Chinese restaurant,a couple of Pizzerias about 3 takeaways and Subway. I rang the Huonville pub for them, to check if they were serving dinner, but, as I had thought, they weren't. I suggested that at Franklin(a 10 mins. drive) there was another pub and a great cafe called Petty Sessions, which were both open on a Sunday night. They asked me to drive them there, which I did.
The guests didn't want to try the cafe as they said they wanted a light meal so I drove them to the pub at Franklin. Before they went inside I said to them that I would wait for them to make sure that they could get a meal as it was getting late. I also told them to enquire about the taxi service for their return trip. I couldn't come to pick them up as we had friends to dinner and I wanted to enjoy a glass of wine. The guests came back to the car saying that they would have a 40 mins. wait for a taxi so they weren't willing to do that. They got back into the car and when we got back to Huonville, we stopped in front of a takeaway Pizza shop. I said that I would wait for them, but they said that they would walk back(15mins.) to the Guesthouse once their pizzas were ready.

What a stunning wonder we discovered in a gem of a place like the Huon Valley! Beautifully refurbished rooms with expensive fittings, a home away from home There are people who are brillant at being a host in their own home and Nadia is one of those people. Thank you for your genuine service.

I found the guesthouse very tranquil with convivial hosts. Nadia and Daniel really looked after us and made good suggestions about places to visit.
The Tarhune forest was one. The airwalk was fabulous - from swinging bridges to the flying fox (aka hang glider). It ended up being a highlight of the trip.

Superlatives fail us in describing this gem of a place, but for any would be travellers - don't miss it.

The original house has been extended and refurbushed to an extremely high standard and there are three spacious, tastefully decorated, themed rooms of which we stayed in the Italian room. Each room is well equipped with all the normal items, but also with many extras, including a decanter of Port and chocolates, DVDs, CDs, guest dressing gowns etc.
Outside there is is a private little patio where we coud sit and watch the chickens.

When we arrived, our hosts Nadia and Daniel gave us a lovely welcome and were at pains to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Daniel came round with home baked cakes and took details of what we needed for breakfast the following day; later on, all these were brought to our room - including Nadia's home made jam, which was delicious.

The house is set in lovely well tended gardens which, when we saw them, were ablaze with colour.

This accommodation is a definite winner and should not be missed by anyone visiting the area.

Only got to stay the single night as we would have loved to spend longer here. Really fantastic rooms in a quaint little town. Very modern facilities, kept very clean. Super friendly owners willing to help out in any way. Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful place to stay. There are three suites to choose from. We stayed in the Italian themed suite. It was luxuriously decorated, extremely clean and had a romantic ambience. Everything is aimed for guest comfort. There were leafy fruit trees and contented chickens beside the patio - a great place to have breakfast. This is a truly special place to stay. The hosts are friendly, helpful and passionate about their guesthouse. The gardens are delightful - full of blossom in summer. I highly recommend this charming, beautiful and restful guesthouse. A magic place to stay.
