Description: Home Hill is an award winning Winery and Restaurant less than 30 minutes drive from Hobart. For many we are the country retreat lost in the Huon Valley, surrounded by vineyards and countryside, with magnificent viewes of Mt. Wellington. Home Hill is very much a boutique winery. Our production is modest but our wines are gold medal/trophy winners. The seasonal menu has been put together to compliment the wines.

“Nice for lunch on a sunny afternoon ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

We had lunch at Home Hill winery and enjoyed the scenic setting amongst the vines and the hills of the Huon Valley. Food was good and the pinot noir was outstanding. Tip: don't have dessert at Home Hill, but go to the excellent chocolatier "The Cat's Tongue" down the road in Huonville. Their artisanal chocolate is really to die for. Great way to end a beautiful afternoon in the Huon Valley!

“Not so good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Started with the wine tasting, Taste more than 4 and you pay $2.50 but a taste is a thimble full, so $2.50 is a bit steep. The Pinot Noirs had won awards so were good quality.

The restaurant for lunch. Nine of us battling over 3 menus. The venue was interesting and had nice views over the paddocks. Not much advice about the menu but we did learn that two items weren't available. We waited about 40 minutes before the food was served. My wife and I chose to share a "starter" and we each ordered a pork belly entree, as mains.

The food was tasty well presented but the serves were small. We each bought 2 glasses of one of the better pinots to wash it down. Total cost $106.

Interesting place but we won't be back.
