“Don't go”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Great location destroyed by rude waitress and disgusting food. We were looking for a local pub meal. We went on a Wednesday night for dinner and provided with a menu with pumpkin soup as the entree, 3 choices for main and 2 options for dessert for $18. We were ambivalent at the time but I said to my partner 'you can't get pumpkin soup wrong'. The soup was lumpy, watery and the cream had separated. After our entree we overheard 3 other tables ask if there were other options on the regular menu. They were told there was another menu but the chef had done all the prep for the specials, resulting on people walking out. I wish we had at that stage. For mains we had the fish cake and lasagne (the 3rd option was corned beef). I was told I could not have veggies instead of salad despite one of the set meals being served with veggies. I could not eat the lasagne and I'm a food lover who will pretty much eat anything. The fish cake was ok but we are convinced it was fresh out of the frozen section of the supermarket. For the dessert the apple crumble was ok but the golden syrup pudding was doughy and we left it. So yes - it was a very cheap meal in a beautiful part of the world but ruined our first night of our trip. Don't go here - we would have been much happier eating somewhere else and paying much more.

“Disgraceful Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Went to the lufra last week for an early dinner, we're young (22) and were treated like we were 15. Got flat out refused for things such as coffee and wine with "no" and no apologies and alternatives, seemed as if we were intruding on a private dinner and were literally 2 of the only 4 diners in the restaurant.

We're Tasmanian and will never go there again.

“Enjoyable and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

The initial attraction of the restaurant was that it was right there - we only had to walk downstairs from our apartment for dinner and drinks.

Once in the restaurant, the view across the bay was incredible, the atmosphere was relaxed, staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and there was plenty of it.

The continental buffet breakfast was good value and convenient, with the choice of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast, baked beans, quiche, muffins, tea, coffee and juice.

While the decor of the restaurant is looking a little tired, the view is amazing and the food is great. We also loved all the historic photos along the walls.

“Terrible Service! Forgot Us and Our Meals!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Terrible portion sizes! Horrible service! We waited an hour+ for our bowl of chips and wedges for lunch and they forgot our Chips!! We then had to wait another 15mins for those! Everytime we tried to flag someone down or find someone they would walk out into the kitchen and ignore us! And we didn't even get our sauces we ordered! When we finally found some one she was really rude and said that they were busy and got the orders mixed up. However that was a lie since we were one of 5 tables.
