I'm sure many of us have stayed I privately run B&B's and found ourselves thinking of ways in which the place could be improved with just a bit more attention to detail or more thought could be given as to how holiday makers like to use their space.
Well, readers of my reviews know I am not shy at speaking my mind and holding hospitality operators accountable for the service. However In this instance I am in awe with how perfectly perfect this beautiful B&B is and am enjoying the daily surprises of a fresh home cooked piece of pie in the fridge, a decanter of port well poised on a coffee table surrounded by comfortable chairs, piled with pillows and draped with the type of rugs you would actually wrap around yourself.
The king size bed sits in a spacious room with plenty of natural light to look out and enjoy the water view, and by the time your ready to explore the bathroom a modern spa bath with piles of freshly washed towels lures you into a hot tub where one can pass hours with a good book and nip of port .
Just think about what you'd expect in your perfect B&B and then read on:
Separate entry and hall way leading into your own foyer
A spacious lounge/dining room with all the expected tv and gadgets plus a generously stocked breakfast fridge of sliced cheese, meats and bread. Eggs, milk, orange juice, cereals and jam. Endless tea and coffee and home baked pie! This breakfast feast gets refreshed every day and with a mini fridge, microwave & kettle you can even purchase some extra supplies to see you through the week.
The master bedroom with its king size bed also has wall heating and electric blankets and plenty of cupboard space, while the luxurious bathroom is large, clean and abundantly supplied with towels and products
The overall decor is a complementary mix of Bavarian warmth and Parisian chic. Thought has gone into everything and in particular the small details which you wouldn't miss if they weren't there but you also notice and appreciate because they are.
If you've talked about visiting Tasmania then put cygnet on your list and absolutely book and stay here. It is by no means the most expensive and you'll feel like you should have paid much more!!
Welcoming and relaxing it's an idyllic location to base yourself for a week of exploring.
Cygnet's filled with wonderful cafes, shops and antique stores and is only a 4.6km walk and a perfect way to start your day. With a hire car you can explore the other little villages including Huonville and Franklin - both larger than Cygnet and with more great vintage stores to get lost in.
Nothing is too far in Tasmania - the drive from Hobart Airport to cygnet can be done in a leisurely hour - for many of us our daily commute from home to work is more than an hour and I'm pretty sure a gourmet breakfast and spa bath doesn't await us!
Thank you to our wonderful hosts who take pride in creating such a quality experience. To all my readers start stepping outside your comfort zones and into the hearts of these beautiful homes - you'll be amazed at how refreshing authentic hospitality really is!!
