“Love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

We went for the 5.30 pm feeding time. It is quite pricey, but totally worth it. You have opportunity to pat a devil which is one of the highlight of my Tasmania trip. Tasmanian devils are very cute!

First you will listen to a presentation and video about tasmanian devils. Then the guide takes a devil and everyone can pat him at his back. After that is the feeding time.

The place only has tasmanian devils (including 2 young devils) and quolls. I really think it should have wombats as well! So if you wants to see devils, this is the place. But if you want to see other animals, go somewhere else. I heard Bonorong in Hobart is very recommended, but I did not go there.

You can come in the morning for cheaper price, but there is no feeding. So I recommend the best time to come is 5.30 pm (after dark feeding tour).

Don't forget to wear jacket as it can be chilly at night (even when it is very hot during the day).

“Very interesting and educational”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Well worth the visit, interesting and fun! The devils are fascinating and the money goes to such a good cause. Also very good to see the other endangered carnivores-the quolls which are so difficult to find in the wild.

“Night feeding tour a must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We went to the 5.30 night feeding tour and was not dissappointed. Firstly you sit through a small presenation about the devils and also what this facility is doing to try and conserve the species. Then a devil was brought in for us to pat then we went outside to tour the enclosures. The place is small and has quolls and devils so if you are looking for a zoo try elsewhere. This facility however focuses on breeding and conservation. We got to watch a feeding and check out all the animals. I think this facility has an excellent setup and great informative staff who presented in scientific and lamens terms. I really enjoyed this tour

“better than a zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

before we set off to see cradle mountain we had arranged to visit devils @ cradle. were the only 2 people in the whole place, guide was friendly and informative, happy to answer our questions. were able to walk through and observe the devils, even saw them sleeping in a little huddle. was able to pat one as well. glad we chose a place more concerned with conservation of the species then a zoo just out to make money. you walk away with a better understanding of devils and an appreciation of how unique our animals in australia really are.

“Must visit, devil's feeding time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We did his very interesting and informative visit at 8:30PM, but there’s an earlier one at 5:30PM. This is if you want to watch the video, hear the talk and watch them been fed. Otherwise, you can pay a small entry fee and visit the Devils at your own leisure. There are a couple of Quolls, as well.
This exhibit is part of the breeding program to try to eradicate the facial tumours, which is decimating the species.
There’s a very nice little Devil, called Aussie, who comes with the handler and can be patted. He was very soft and was almost falling asleep during the talk, despite all the visitors.
A great experience, not to be missed!
There is limited seating, so booking ahead is a good idea.
