We drove down from Launcestonto meet up with family from Hobart today for lunch in Campbell Town.
We chose Burger Me! for its catchy name. After a quick read of the menu outside, we went in and sat down. Ordering was a little difficult as different parts of the menu are in different places. Burgers on the wall behind the counter on blackboards, and other menu items on laminated pages stuck to the wall and windows. Some specials are written on a board on the wall.
I was ordering for myself and two sons, aged 6 and 2. They aren't burger fans and I had read outside that there were toasted sandwiches, but failed to find that list of menu items once inside. I ended up ordering them a Baby Burger ($5) each - beef burger, cheese, sauce. I had a Hawaiian Chicken with grilled breast fillet ($7). My father-in-law had a daily special of Grilled Trevally and chips($12?), while my mother-in-law chose a Spinach and Feta quiche from the pie oven and asked to have it with a salad, unsure of the price of this one as it wasn't a listed menu item. We also ordered a bowl of chips ($3.50)
Service was pretty good, I have read other reviews where the service wasn't good, but today was fine. Just fine, though. The food did come quick and was hot. I also think that they did the chips and kids burgers first, as they weren't quite as hot as the others, which is a great thing! Nothing worse that sitting hot chips in front of a couple of kids and telling them not to eat them!
My burger was good. Tender breast fillet, a nice piece of pineapple, a little heavy on the mayo and light on the salad - but if you knew, you could ask for more and I'm sure they'd oblige.
Grilled fish was apparently delicious and the quiche and salad exceptional - bright and fresh salad and a very tasty quiche, came with a little jug of balsamic dressing. The kids burgers were very plain, unseasoned beef. The 6 year old ate a little under half and the 2 year old only a few small bites. They loved the chips, thankfully. We ended up bagging the leftvers for the dog.
I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but if you were after a filling meal for a decent price, no worries. A lot cheaper than Zeps down the road. However I would recommend steering away from the burgers and ordering from the specials board, the meals were of a much higher standard.
