We called in here on the Sunday evening of the Australia Day weekend and though originally just in the bar for a drink, we were impressed enough with the friendly staff and the bistro menu, to stay on. We weren't disappointed. The entree size Cajun Chicken salad was large and delicious; the pork neck in master stock with pumpkin mash an unusual and tasty dish for me, with the pork belly beautifully presented and the chilli pasta with prawns was beautiful. The Irish waitress (Deborah) was welcoming and professional. We retired to the bar for further drinks and a chat with the locals before walking the 1 km to our motel. Such was the welcome and hospitality here that even though it was pouring with rain the next evening we decided to don the plastic macs and brollies and make the walk again. This time the welcome in the bar was just as great and again the Bistro did not disappoint. Perhaps a slight reduction in portion size and a dollar off the prices would have had us trying the delicious sounding deserts. Skip was the chef on our first night and Craig (head chef) on the second. Both did an excellent job. Didn't catch the name of the firsts
Nights batman, but the second was owner Ben. Thanks guys.
