“Give it an hour.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Enjoyable and worth the fee but there is only so much to see in an old gaol. There is a bric a brac/ antique store at the entrance if you're into that sort of thing.
You should also check out the museum across the road. It is full of interesting artefacts from in and around the town.

“Great, to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Some interesting facts and examples of history of the district. The gaol has an interesting past in being not only a gaol but also a school during its time.

“Museum”

A little disappointing that some exhibits had been stored away due to others being stupid with them (the rabbit traps etc). Great place to visit and good photo opportunities

“Old Wentworth Goal...how it still shoul be”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Luved it!! Full of information on how it used to be. Told stories of some of the bush rangers that passed through its massive iron gates. I thought that the displays they had were sufficent enough to show how it was. Prisoners lived with the bare nessesities and that's what they portrayed. Only thing I thought wrong was as someone else said the first 3 rooms you walked into were selling old wares...but hey suppose they need to make money on the off season. Definately worth a look.

“Worth a visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

I agree with the previous review. This is essentially a country lock up, however it has an interesting paranormal report and it also has very good information on the Harry Manya story. Even though the aboriginal section is very poorly presented, I found it far more interesting than the gaol itself. Wentworth gaol has so much potential, but they really need to get a grant to present it properly.
