So we stayed here again, this time I took my wife. There were 10 of us on this tour this time. John, the owner of the pub, was accommodating as usual. The service was good and chatting to some of the locals was a nice and friendly experience.
The pub has very comfortable rooms upstairs, it's quiet and homely.
The pub has a good selection of food in the bistro, but there is also a restaurant, which we forgot to check out (we were having too much fun). There is a nice big fireplace in the pub, darts, snooker table and plenty of room to move about. The fireplace has some lounges to relax by as well.
For $40pp, it is excellent value and the meals are decent at very good pricing. The bed was comfy and a nice self service breaky area upstairs in a common area. A TV to watch as well, whilst having brekky.
Friends who had previously bad experiences in Walcha have recently changed their views since staying at the Apsley. A good thing. Look forward to staying here again next year.
