“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

Our stay at sunsets at oberon was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays. Irene is the perfect host and the breakfast was fantastic. The view and the feeling of relaxation is out of this world. We will certainly be back.

Absolutely fabulous location and a wonderful house (converted Golf House) with large bedrooms and spacious well heated bathrooms. We enjoyed the spectacular view to the lake and a round of golf. Irene was the perfect host and cooked full breakfasts. Guided by Irene we visited the many local sites including Mayfield Gardens and did numerous walk. We also visited the Jenolan Caves and the old town of Trunkey Creek. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Room Tip: All 3 bedrooms were large with spacious en-suites & the full size billiard table was an added b...

We stayed overnight at Sunsets at Oberon during a recent road trip. We were warmly welcomed by Irene, the hostess and owner of the property. This property used to be the Golf Clubhouse, and Irene has thoughtfully refurbished and altered it to become a cosy bed & breakfast accommodation, with views overlooking the golf course and lake. Irene welcomed us with a personally made coffee, which was most appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable (no air conditioning). Guests have access to the media room for tv viewing, and the sitting room and back verandah overlooking the lake and surrounding countryside, which is very picturesque. Irene has furnished her bed & breakfast with unique antique furniture pieces. She is a most welcoming host and provided us with a beautiful cooked breakfast. The b & b is situated only a short drive from the main Oberon shopping strip and eateries.

Although the verandah views, the host, the locality and the breakfast are fantastic, we thought this b & b was over priced. The small guest rooms and the dining room have no outlook and the decor is a bit OTT. No clock radio or TV in the room.

This is a fantastic B&B & would not bother looking elsewhere. Irene is a wonderful person & so warm & welcoming & great to chat to without being too intrusive. The beds are luxurious, bathrooms spacious, it is beautifully clean & tidy, the breakfast amazing & home cooked, the views stunning. One simply cannot say enough & if ever in Oberon or surrounds would stay here & highly recommend it to any friends or family to stay as well. Thanks Irene & we wished we could have stayed longer....

Room Tip: All rooms are great, just close the blinds when u go to bed as the sensor light is pretty bright out...

Sunsets was a perfect getaway for us. A great place to stay, with a fantastic hostess, Irene. Very peaceful, great rooms, great views, great breakfast. Would recommend it to everyone who wants a quiet, relaxing getaway. Irene has done a marvelous job on this place, very homey. Beautifully decorated as well. Only wish we could of stayed longer. It isn't far from Jenolin Caves, which we visited, and enjoyed dining out in the town. Will definately be going back again.

Sunsets and Irene set the bar quite high. It's almost impossible to find fault with this B&B. We planned three nights and stayed four, seeking an escape from the summer glug in the Northern Rivers. Unfortunately Oberon is hurting for good places to eat but that really can't be blamed on Irene and hopefully she's leading a trend to higher standards. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable; the common rooms are large, well-appointed and welcoming; the breakfasts delicious; the locale peaceful; the views beautiful and the walk into town for dinner is great for both appetite and digestion. And Irene is a charming and attentive hostess. We'll be back.
