We use the Roundabout for special occasions and take my wife's aged mother out for lunch. It was done up a couple of years ago and the dining room, our main place of attraction, is quite comfortable and welcoming.
The staff are friendly and helpful and look after us well. The food is pretty good, interesting and varied, the chef does some quite interesting new dishes. I had fish pie recently and it was delicious. Standard roast beef and pork tends to be a bit institutional and I would not call them cheap, they are at the top end of most places we go to, pub restaurents, hotels and the like and their wine is a little pricey. On the other hand we only go occasionally so the pain is bearable and eased by some very tasty dishes.
It appears the management changed recently but most of the familiar staff are still there. Most of them leave you alone unless you need them, I do not like being interrogatred every five minutes about, is it alright, if it is not, I will tell you!!!! So really very good overall but for the manager standing over our table asking the preverbial and picking his nose at the same time!
I will add that I have been criticised for this review but I will not shy away from the factual truth for surely that is what Trip Advisor is all about. All of our party remarked on this occurrance. Their food is great, lets us not forget that!
