“Beautiful Bed and Breakfast, friendly owners, we'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We stayed here on the evening of our friends Wedding in the village of Bury. The owners were very friendly, helping me to take bags to the different rooms my friends and I had booked into. We loved the comfy beds, the lovely big bath and kitkats to go with out tea and coffee. The breakfast was amazing with cereals, fruit, croissants and a cooked breakfast made to order how you like it. The owners were chatty and we felt like we could ask their advice on things to do in the area. We would definatly recommend staying here and we will do again for a romantic evening away.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights here and everything was perfect. Fantastic friendly hosts, lovely room in the main house, breakfast was out of this world with a tremendous choice. Nothing was too much trouble for us. They even have an outdoor swimming pool. Parking is very safe and well off the road. The 5 ft double bed was very comfortable. The location was very secluded and quiet. We were recommended to eat in the evening in the local pub. The food there while not cheap was excellent value for money. All in all we found our stay well worth the cost and certainly will go there again if we are in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for room No 1 in the main house or for something different try the shepherds hut. It is fully in...

We needed somewhere to stay for a wedding in a nearby village and found this B&B quite excellent. The owners are really charming and helpful, the accomodation is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast of a high quality. The shepherd's hut in the garden was particularly pleasant.

Very comfortable and well designed rooms with owners who obviously care very much for their guests. Breakfast is great!

This is a great B&B. We stayed in their new Shepherd’s Hut, which, though quite small, was comfortably and thoughtfully equipped to the standards of a luxury hotel. The extras like bottles of water, fruit, candles, Kitkats and a torch (to walk to the pub) were very much appreciated. Susie and Howard have a real flair for hospitality and create a relaxed and positive atmosphere. If you want to stay in this area don’t waste your money on tired hotels that charge disproportionate and exploitative prices, especially on Saturdays. This is much better value for money.

We ate at the Squire and Horse in Bury: excellent food, quite slow service but OK if you’re not in a hurry (we weren’t), and worth paying a little over the odds for a treat.

Room Tip: Shepherds Hut was reat and other guests seemed happy with their accommodation in the barn.

Wow what a gem! We recently got married in Amberley/Bury and booked all 5 rooms (2 in the house, 2 in the barn and the Shepherd's Hut) for the Bride's family and Bridesmaids for 2 nights with the 'first night' arranged as a surprise for the Groom in the Shepherd's Hut. Howard and Susie were great hosts - allowing me to get ready in the conservatory and helping get the hairdresser cups of coffee! As a B&B, the service is first class. The rooms are immaculately furnished, very comfortable beds, crisp white linen and they have thought of everything. I had forgotten my toothpaste but that didn't matter as each room comes with a supply of necessities. The Shepherd's Hut (stunning design) is so quaint and comes with a private veranda and little fridge stocked with drinks. Cannot wait for the wedding photos to come back of us posing by it! Made to order breakfast was one of the best. Cannot emphasise how much we all loved this place and cannot thank Howard and Susie enough.

Had just one night here and it was really lovely. I had a very comfy double room in the main cottage. Crisp white sheets, heaps of feather pillows, fluffy white towels + lots of extra nice touches including fresh flowers and fruit in my room. Breakfast was delicious - lots of choice, including all different sorts of fresh berries, cereals, yoghurts etc + cooked breakfast with eggs from Susie & Howards hens. Nice to have chat with Susie about chickens as I was attending a chicken keeping course at the Weald Open Air Museum the following day. Also, on Susie's recommendation, I enjoyed a walk down through village to nearby river. Beautiful in May with abundance of wild flowers. Hope I get a chance to visit again soon.
