2nd visit this year to the London Gatwick Hilton, first Visit the room was dated the bed was back braking also had wireless internet problems.

On the 2nd visit Saturday 17th august, we were placed in the executive wing of the hotel the room was much nicer in every way and the bed provided a good night’s sleep. Only issue is no wireless internet in that wing, which seems to be an issue across many areas of the hotel, we were passed through BT and it’s rude staff who were no help at all. Complained to the manager who suggested I call them again tried again with no success. Ended having to open the executive lounge area after midnight in order to gain access to my e-mail. Hilton needs to do more to ensure all of its hotel as specially the executive areas has internet access.

If you're looking to use this hotel to stay the night before you fly from Gatwick you should be fine, unless your room over looks the concourse to the terminal, Which is busy and noisy throughout the night. It's weird but the hotel gets used as a cut through by passengers, air crew and airport staff so the foyer is always buzzing, a number of rooms overlook the foyer and concourse so you could be unlucky.

Unlike most, I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, while delivering training in Victoria London, we couldn't find a hotel nearer that fitted within the limits of our budget. So we had to commute each day, with its great rail link into Victoria Station it seemed a fairly good choice. Particularly as on their Website it clearly states parking in included.

On arrival, I was a little bit excited as the signs stated valet parking, now for a chap like me this was unreal...... And it was! The parking they mention is an NCP run car park at the end of the building, although its nothing to do with the Hilton Hotel, you do 10% discount if you take the parking ticket into the hotel reception. However, as I was staying for 3 nights I couldn't park in this "short stay" car park, so I had to drive to the south terminal long stay car park and traipse back. The parking for 3 nights cost me £39.

On the whole it was, big, clean room, at first look I'd say the decor/facilities in the room were higher end of basic (Normal business trips tend to put me in a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn) however on closer inspection, some elements looked a bit tired. One of my colleagues mentioned that his bath tap constantly and noisily dripped the whole time, and by the looks of the lime scale mark on the bath it had been for some years.

As I said at the start, as long as you don't get a room over the concourse this is a nice place to stay, the food was good and reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from concourse to terminal.

We stopped at this hotel on the 19th August before flying off on holiday on the 20th August. In the bathroom the artexing was flaking off of the ceiling over the bath, there was black mould on one of the walls, grouting missing round some of the tiles. I the bedroom the wallpaper was coming away from the wall over one of the beds and there was a thick layer of dust under the furniture. As this is supposed to be a high class hotel we was very disappointed and would not stay there again.

5 stars for location and convenience. This Hilton is very conveniently located in Gatwick terminal 2 and also connected with the train station. You will see Hilton hotel signs directing you there. Such an ideal location for travellers for a quick overnight stop.

Hotel configuration is very confusing. We were given a room in the newer section of the hotel with room no. 7112. No its not on 7th floor, its on 1st floor. Go figure. Getting to the executive lounge on the 4th floor is challenging. Be sure to follow the signs.

Room was typical of Hilton, but with a larger bath, very adequate. Design was not ideal, example... blow dryer connected inside the desktop. You lift the desk top and there is a mirror. But lighting is awful in that area. Wonder how many guests call up asking where is the blow dryer?

Bottomline ... no doubt we will stay here again. It's SO convenient!

Checked in early afternoon and went to bed as had very late night before. Bed heavenly. Room basic but adequate. Room service efficient and friendly. Went down for a meal at 10pm in main restaurant by reception. Food excellent and service good though very expensive for what it was. Checkout fast.

We stayed at the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick before flying out to Rome the following day, the room was clean and extremely comfortable, although check in was at 3pm we arrived at 1.25pm and they checked us in staright away, that evening we had the buffet evening meal three courses at the extremely great price of £21.95 each I reserved this on line, the layout of the Hotel is great, there is a large open bar area, a Costa and gift shop, the other really great advantage is that it is actually in the South Terminal of the airport, I would definately stay here again, great value and great service, the staff were very accomodating, well done Hilton!!....

We stayed in a king hilton room with access to the club lounge. Nice lounge but average food/drink offerings. Room service was not great. We had a pasta dish but was very heavy and not very nice. The room was big and nice. I notice it is difficult to see pictures on the hilton website so I will post. The service really let the place down and could have been better. Service = average. Room = very good. Access to the north terminal wasn't too bad but took a good 20 mins so need to leave plenty of time. I would probably look elsewhere next time but if not I would stay here. Hit and miss.
