“GOOD LOCATION BUT.....!”

A reasonable hotel in a good location attached to Gatwick Airport's South Terminal. I have stayed there 3 times in the past few months and on all occasions I requested a disabled access room with walk-in shower when booking (through Expedia) but on all 3 visits, this was not forthcoming despite having telephoned the hotel prior to arrival to confirm the booking in case the request had not been passed on. I cannot fault the hotel for its location, but the booking system leaves a lot to be desired. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food very good, but a bit pricey - but you can always pop back into the airport to eat if you wish to eat on a budget.

Room Tip: Double and treble check any special booking requests prior to travel!

Stayed here before and after very early flights. Overall this hotel is good, connected to the south terminal with really friendly reception staff. However I found the two rooms I was in were a little run down with flaking paint and bathrooms in need of refurbishment. Overall this hotel is great for an overnight stay and the fact that I could check in at midday was really appreciated, would recommend it, just hunt for a deal.

Having secured the location, this hotel has clearly decided to take advantage of its monopoly and rip off its customers. The lobby looks nice but the room was grotty and tired- the fridge (empty) looked like it belonged in a museum, dubious looking stains on the furniture. We eat in the garden restaurant - the food was bad, burnt and cold, quite an achievement. The bill was £80 for 2 - that's with no alcohol. To top it all they charge £15 to access the Internet in your room. Embarrassingly bad.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments and feedback and I am so very sorry to read that we have failed you. I was particularly concerned to read your comments regarding the Garden Restaurant. Without knowing specifics of date and time it is difficult to comment other than to say we have not received any other negative feedback from our guests in respect of quality. I do of course appreciate all of our guests comments and feedback and discuss them with the relevant members of my senior management team. We do also appreciate that being in the terminal customers will choose us more readily but please be assured that we do not take anything for granted and that the upgrade programme is ongoing and we about to start another 100 bedroom renovation phase. I was staying here for one night and was really disappointed. Yes really convenient to get to the terminal but doesn't justify the stained ceiling and grotty bathroom.

Bar area nice, massive queue for the breakfast so can't report on that.

Would stay here again but only for convenience, it will be quite painful to pay for this again though.

Had early flight so again booked into Hilton Gatwick brilliant choice as dinner that night very good followed by comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Really enjoyed the breakfast it set us up for the mornings travel ahead of us ,will book again before the next holiday even though the flights not that early.

This was my first flight out of Gatwick and unfortunately it was an early morning flight so booked into the Hilton overnight, with the convenience of using the Executive Lounge. The room we were allocated was lovely, it appeared to be a recently renovated standard type room in a nice quiet wing. The room was comfortable and also quiet, with a big comfortable bed and crisp linen, large bathroom with a great selection of towels and products. It was really easy to get to and from the train terminal to the airport and then to the shuttle tram in the morning to get to the other terminal. Previous reviewers have mentioned that the hotels are not well signposted throughout the airport, which was useful as we kept an eye out for the signage and did not get lost. The Costa coffee outlet opening early in the foyer is most welcome before an early flight. The Executive Lounge was busy but we were able to pop in for a quick drink and snack, although it wasn’t really appropriate for doing any business-related work. Seemed to be used by mostly package-holiday travellers using the place as the start to their all inclusive holiday – I don’t think I’ve ever seen an executive lounge with such a huge turn over of drinks and food. The staff did a great job of keeping up with the huge demand for deep fried chicken wings and slabs of cheese. Although we were lucky to have a renovated room in a quiet wing, I felt this hotel was nothing special. There was nothing wrong with our stay, but there was nothing outstanding about it either.

Room Tip: Executive rooms appear to have been upgraded and are very well appointed

As many others seem to do, we stayed here for one night, prior to a morning flight from Gatwick's South Terminal.

The undercover link to the terminal is a big plus, as are the packages it offers to include varying lengths of car parking.

Service was fine and our room (family) was fine for a night. The restaurants were pretty expensive so we actually had supper at one of the restaurants in the airport which was fine. The hotel's atrium bar area is pleasant and there is an understated 'traveller' vibe all around from the pilots, crew, fellow holiday-makers and business travellers all going about their day.

We would most certainly stay again for the same purpose and we would choose this hotel above others in the airport vicinity primarily for the easy terminal access.
