Where do I start? We were seated and had to wait at least 5 mins for our drink order to be taken, and another 10 for the drinks to arrive. The waiter eventually took our food order, and came back 15 mins later to say he had forgotten to put the order through so there would be a wait, but offered us a round of free drinks. A easy mistake to make in a busy restaurant, so we accepted it. We waited ages for our food which was of terrible quality. My husband and I had recently been to another pub within the chain, where I had a delicious lamb shank pie. I ordered the same here, and was shocked by the difference. It was a dry, almost meatless lamb shank shoved into a pie dish with a little crust on top. Even the veg weren't to the same quality. My husband specifically asked for no bacon in his burger due to religious reasons, and the burger arrived with a few slices of bacon. The waiter was quick to blame the chef. Just as I finished what I could of my meal I found a hair attached to the meat bone. Definitely not mine! By now our waiter had been replaced by a friendly young girl. She apologised for all the errors and went to speak to her manager, who couldn't even be bothered to come and apologise himself, just offered to take my main course off the bill. Overall we were very disappointed with our experience, and I was embarrassed to have taken my mum out to lunch in such a terrible pub.
