“Here & Now - Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

Just come back from a fantastic 80's weekend - 7 women, all different ages. The welcome was fab, we stayed in a deluxe apartment, really clean and tidy. Only fault no sink down stairs so had to keeping running upstairs to the bathroom to wash cups etc, but apart from that can't moan. Entertainment was great, full on all weekend, hilarious comedian, great DJ's, and music acts. Resturant offered a good choice, and all you could eat. We didn't see any trouble, any aggressive behaviour, everyone got on really well. If you get the chance, you must go and make sure you take plenty of fancy dress clothes as you will fit in perfectly. Looking forward to the next one.

We've just got back after a 3 night stay here at one of their adult big weekends. We choose the 80s weekend and we had a blast! The theme was fun, the music great and the atmosphere was friendly...everyone was there to have a fun weekend!
We decided to pick the basic room to make it a 'cheap' weekend away. The accommodation was perfectly good, no frills but functional, clean and close to all the amenatites. There was 3 of us, our 'basic' room had 1 double bed and 2 twin beds which worked well and we had 2 bathrooms... Which was very handy when getting ready for the evenings celebrations!
The staff were great, they handled some lively guests (aka drunk) well!
Check in was a very slick operation, the whole set up was...
We got a great deal and had a great time....if you like a dance, I'd recommend one of these weekends....

Stayed at the Wave for the 80s extravaganza - 10 guys - Some battle hardened travellers in the group but to a man all had nothing but positive things to say
Couple of feedback areas - communication between Wave and Shoreline could be better - we went to the Spa on Sat morning - being told at Wave reception to go over there - when we got there we were told it was fully booked - No big deal as we headed to the Pool
Also Parking on arrival was a little challenging and some of the signage not easy to see / follow
But overall it was a great weekend - the resort delivered well , food and accom was good and facilities , bars etc , staff very very good
Would def book again

Booked this as a girly weekend for my friend's birthday and having read some of the reviews on here, I was expected a weekend filled with drunken chavvy yobs heavy petting at every turn... It was NOTHING like that!! The room was fantastic (we were in the Ocean hotel, room 116), really clean and tidy and in good condition - LOVED the lights behind the master bed!! Plenty of room to chill out in our hungover state! Beds were comfy, and the mini fridge was great too! Slight downside would be the lack of "do not disturb" door hanger, something that would be welcome on an adult weekend, as we were disturbed by the housekeeping team on both mornings of our stay.
The entertainment was great during the weekend, we spent most of our time in Reds which was great, BUT there was a really bad smell in there everytime we went in and this is why I've given a 4 instead of a 5!
The staff were FANTASTIC, from booking right through to check out. We upgraded our accommodation bout 2 weeks before our booking and this was confirmed immediately, we added a celebration package and a really helpful guy sorted out the change of restaurant for us and called me back to confirm that everything was in place. We'd used a nickname on the cake and the restaurant manager even tracked us down to check that the name was right as he didn't recognise what it was! We then asked for a pitcher of cocktail to be on the table when we arrived - and there it was! Nothing was too much trouble for the team so a huge well done!
As for the atmosphere and people at the weekend... Yes, it's an adult weekend, yes, there is alcohol involved (lots of it!!!!!) and yes, you will see some interesting outfits and behaviour.... HOWEVER, we found everyone to be friendly and just out for a good time! We loved it and we've booked our next visit already!!

We are a family of 3 and went with another family of 4 during feb half term. We went with reserved fellings but were pleasantly surprised. We stayed at the wave hotel and our friends stayed in the gold accomdation. Their apartment was neat and clean. The wave hotel was fine. The only thing was there were some areas that could have been cleaner like the kids den light switch was dirty and sticky, and the sink was dirty too. For a new hotel, it should have been cleaner. The pool was super. We ate at Turners when we arrived at night and we also ate at the deck the next few days. No complaints about the food. They were very good. We saw Sesame Street at centre stage and jack and the beanstalk. The kids loved jack and the beanstalk. The actors were brilliant! Sesame Street I think the parents enjoyed more lol! Yes, the center stage queue was massive and the hall was packed! but one of us queued earlier and reserved seats for sesame street. We did some fairground rides and paid to go on the go karting. All in all we had a good time and we will return.

Does what it says on the tin. It's basic but most importantly clean. You will get lost all looks the same! Actually it's a good stay but would only come here on a stag do not a proper holiday!!!

No real complaints, as far as stag dos go it caters for everything! Bed, beer and hot drinks!!!!

This is my 2nd trip back to Butlins for a weekend away with my family in a matter of months.

This time i had to upgrade to Gold accommodation due to no available Silver rooms for this weekend. After paying £70 extra i was expecting a bit more than what i got. It is no different than the Silver accommodation apart from a few extra gadgets that i never used. Housekeeping came around at 4pm on the 2nd full day, which seemed pointless when we were in the room getting ready for our evening meal. Surely this should have been done, as it was on the first day, in the morning so as not to inconvenience the guests. Also all the single beds, of which one i was using, had rubber sheeting fitted. I may be 51 but i can assure you i am still in full control of my bladder and it just made for a very uncomfortable night sleep even though i used a spare duvet over the top of the mattress..
The carpet was stained, and one of the heaters was hanging off the wall and didnt work, hardly Gold standard. Also the car park reserved for Gold members was full so my daughter had to park on the other side of the resort, inconvenient when you are pregnant and two kids in tow.
So my advice is don't bother upgrading if you don't need to. As we were using the chalet as a base and nothing else the extras are pointless.

We went half board this time and the food was okay and there was plenty of it. Canteen grub as you would expect.

Centre stage was absolutely packed every night and we learnt the lesson to arrive early to get a seat. The first night we missed the shows due to no tables being available.I remember going back a fair few years, when there were two main entertainment complex's on camp which were open every night. and gave much more variety in what to go see.
Though they have the complex Reds it has never been open when i have been there, for evening entertainment, even though the resort seemed very busy. The variety of evening and day time entertainment has certainly declined in the years and i can only assume this is a way of saving money.

All in all my weekends away are for quality time with my family and my grandaughter loves Butlins so i will be returning.

Room Tip: Dont bother upgrading to Gold accommodation. There are no real plus's for doing so if you are ju...
