“Too many people not enough things to do”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Took my daughter here last year for her birthday. I have been here before and it was ok but since they have opened the new hotel its gone down hill.

They have too many people on site and not enough entertainment etc. We had to arrive an hour before the entertainment started in the evening just to get a seat near the stage. When the show started there was standing room only and a lot of very unhappy people as they had young children that couldn't see,

The hotel room was great, tidy and clean. The staff where nice and said hi. They have a great breakfast buffet that is reasonable considering what you get.

The pool was great but we had to wait to go in as too many people where in there. Plus when we got in there it was too full and we ended up getting out. It wasn't good for the younger children as they got crushed in the amount of people.

Price wise... Def VERY OVERPRICED. The funfair is free but old and tatty. Def needs an update. Plus due to the weather they didn't open all the rides on all the days and one ride was broken the whole time we where there.

If you have money to burn and don't care about the entertainment then go during the quiet times. Otherwise you will end up being very cramped!

Room Tip: Stay in the shoreline hotel

We went to the Ocean Hotel in Bognor end of November for a music weekend The hotel is gorgeous very chic The food could have been better We went for Premium Dining but most was overcooked and cold. Anyway the music most of it was excellent but just after 9pm all these people descended into the show stood along the passageway and everyone who was sitting couldnt see a thing no one bothered to move them as it was just a case of pack them in Really spoiled an otherwise good weekend

Room Tip: go for the Atlantis room with balcony and sea view Really nice

18 of us travelled down to Butlins for the 90's reloaded weekend, we stayed in the s/c accommodation Gold - couldn't fault the facilities, but it could do with better cleaning as i managed to find a wrap of class A drug at the top shelf of our wardrobe! The three bars were amazing, cheap drinks and wicked music! Room service wasn't great as i had to go to reception to request items, which after 10 hours of waiting, they were never delivered!

Would defo recommend for a boozy weekend away with friends.

Room Tip: I would most certainly recommend that if you are staying in the self catering accommodation, you opt...

We stayed at the Butlins resort new wave hotel in a dolphin room for 4 night in August 2012 and it was amazing. The hotel is cool from the reception and the lifts came quickly. We were given restaurant options at check in as we had booked premium dinner and breakfast with our package .[You can choose Ocean hotel restaurant with a £10 premium to pay, Turners or the deck which is the exclusive restaurant for wave hotel guests] We chose the Deck and was that a wonderful choice.check out my review of the restaurant . The staff was very helpful

On entering our room the sheer beauty of the colors, the ambiance and most importantly the children's cabin was amazing!
My little ones 4yr old girl and 6yr old boy didn't want to leave their beds after choosing up or down beds each with their own TV on each wall. The TV has a dvd slot in them so i decided to go down to reception to rent their chosen dvds for them with a £20 deposit fully refundable upon return of dvd. Need I say they never really got to watch as we were all dozing off each night we got back to our room at 11pm. The tv in the main room also has a dvd player in built and we had the iPod docking station as well.It was always a pleasure to come back to bed.
There is a small fridge in the wardrobe space next to the main bed and tea making facilities with little biscuit sachets replenished in the mornings.

At the reception floor there is a gaming room with wii,play-station and Nintendo gaming most of the time busy with families in queues to use, but not very much in use especially when there are shows in centre stage or the reds. The gaming room is a must use for dads and boys.
We are booked to return July 2013.
Same wave hotel.Here we come!

Adults only Big Weekend -90'S

Hi Just wanted to give some feedback on the Big Weekend I we have just returned from Bognor ,we had a great time 10 out of 10

However ALL of the staff deserve a special mention obviously I am sure some of this is down to the training, but their attitude (which cannot be trained )was excellent .It doesn't matter how much you spend on new hotels etc if you employ miserable unhelpful staff this is what will resonate in your memory after you have left

*It starts at the Gate –Young Lad smiling ,(it was wet and freezing) very helpful and called me sir ! ,similar experience at exit for day visitors the next day

*Check in-short queue ,once again very organised given a pack with all info

*Bar staff –few what a job ! thousands of drunken party go-ers ,very quick attentive and yes smiling through-out !

*Swimming pool –has obviously had a makeover –very clean and modern-Loved the music ,balls and rings

*DJ –How did he do it ? starts at 8.30 ish –still their at 2.30 when we retired exhausted !-he was excellent

*The Deluxe room –loved the special touch of the folded towel !,very clean and comfortable –walls a little thin but you don't come to Butlins to lounge about in your room

*The entertainment was great and well organised –loved the extra addition of the comedy on the Sunday

* Special mention to cleaners brilliant around the whole park but especially in the clubs at night trying to stem the tide of plastic Tsunamis !

The only experience that was poor was Papa Johns ,we had the buffet at 6.30pm on the Friday ,the restaurant was less than 25% full ,the food was inedible we had to ask for some fresh food ,no asked us if we wanted extra drinks when we had drank ours (obviously business is that good) ,it was apparent from observing the staff (there were numerous amounts) they were bored and were congregating around the restaurant chatting oblivious to the customers. When they spoke to you they were pleasant and friendly so my assumptions are the finger needs pointing at the management ,I left no tip something I haven't done for over 5 years .

We found a pub called the Fox -15 minute walk (if you want home cooked food ) plenty of other options if you are not to bothered on site

Well done Butlins , what an experience it is and atmosphere cannot be rivalled .

I am looking to come back later this year ,however I am so exhausted I need a holiday !

ps if you are boring and want tranquil surroundings go to Center Parcs- I am 48 & my partner 44

Room Tip: Go for a Deluxe Room or hotel -

Could not do anything everyone else was doing as there was no disabled access to stage or any bars clubs hotel room or anything!! My room was miles away from main tent with a set of at least 20 steps to the room I could not get in and out without difficulty then to the bar without difficulty it was a nightmare

A group of us stayed here for the 70s Disco Inferno weekend in November and opted to stay at the Shoreline hotel rather than in the Chalets. The rooms were modern clean and comfortable and the location of the Hotel is central to the resort so handy for the evenng and daytime entertainment and activity.

Although we were in a mixed age group ( early 20s - early 50s ) the entertainment and bars were suited to the whole party, there was a great atmosphere and a real mix of Friendly people .

A great break and the resort has come on leaps and bounds since my last stay in 2008. recommend this as a

Room Tip: we were on the top floor and that seemed preferable to the lower floors as there was less footfall a...
