First time in here. It came recommended from a friend. The food was absolutely gorgeous. It was all freshly cooked. The staff were very nice and helpful. My self and my Mrs opted for the all you can eat menu. The portions were just small enough so that you can try all of the starters and or the mains which is a brilliant idea. The friendly staff were also encouraging us to order more and pointing out their special dishes.
I have seen some moans on here about the size of the portions but you have to understand the concept. Eat small and plenty.
every single little starter that we ate was blinking gorgeous.
The mains were good also, still small but i managed 4 starters and 3 mains. very nice.
There was just the two of us and we had two bottles of house red wine between us with 2 pints of lager. The bill came to £55.50
I gave them £60.
well worth a visit. We went on a quiet Sunday night at 6pm.
not sure what this place performs like at any other time of the week.
The only complaint on the night was from the Mrs, (typical) she is a very strict vegetarian, We ordered a starter of BBQ Ribs and Vegetarian Wanton were presented on the same plate and some of the BBQ sauce had run on to the Veg option. I didn't mind my meat being contaminated with rabbit food but the Mrs did.
Would I go again, ?? yes, definitely and the Mrs would too.
There are still lots of other restaurants in and around Rugby, I have yet to come across a bad one since moving down here.
The decor in this place is like an olde world pub, dark oak beams etc. When going in a Chinese restaurant I would expect Dragons, Buddhas, Fans, Chinese Art and a little soft Chinese music in the background. I went there for the food. The food was good. I hate to criticise but it's just a small one. The food took me to China but the room didn't.
Keep up the good work Jasmine Court.
I will return.
