“Lovely Birthday treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

We stayed here one night to celebrate my Husbands birthday.
The hotel itself is easy to get to and the grounds are lovely and well kept.
The room was perfect and the hotel itself lovely. There was wine and chocolates in our room on arrival and the receptionist telephoned us to see if everything was ok with the room, ( a little touch we liked).
The food in the resturant was also lovely as was the breakfast. For the money we paid it was a lovely night away and cannot say anything bad about it.
My husband did comment on the fact that some of the staff didnt speak to us just to acknowledge us, but I think this was just him being picky as he used to run a top standard hotel himself.

I stayed here over night as my son's wedding was taking place at this beautiful hotel which has lovely well maintained grounds. The entire venue looked stunning and I can't fault it, the day went so smoothly and the staff were friendly and efficient, the Maitre D was attentive ensuring every one was happy and had everything they wanted. We enjoyed canapes immediately after the service which were fun as well as delicious, the overall favourite being the mini cones of fish & chips :) The wedding breakfast was delicious with vegetables being cooked to perfection and the chocolate bread & butter pudding was yummy.
Our room was large and spacious with a good sized bathroon, I also had the opportunity to see some of the other guest rooms in the stable block which were lovely. Sleep quality was perfect. Breakfast served buffet style, with the exception of the bride and groom who were served at the table, was good with plenty of choice. All in all a perfect weekend in a beautiful setting.

We had a lovely one night stay celebrating our friends silver wedding anniversary. They arrived by helicopter and the hotel were quite happy for it to land on the lawn ! Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were extremely pleasant. we were given a superb room in the coach house and our friends were in the stable block all were high spec and spotless. Very comfortable bed and quality linen and pillows. I missed a magnifying mirror as I cannot see too well but that was my only complaint and a small one. The grounds are really beautiful and well cared for. All in all a very memorable stay.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and I am delighted everything went well for your friends' anniversary. They certainly made a grand entrance arriving by helicopter. I have noted the need for a magnifying mirror next time.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here on 28th July 2012 and we had the most amazing time. Firstly, the building and grounds are absolutely beautiful - everything you could wish for and enabled us to have some wonderful photos. We had been over to Brownsover numerous times before the wedding for meals and meetings and each time were greeted with familiarity and made to feel special. The food on all of our visits has been excellent and we strongly recommend it. The bedrooms were fantastic and the feedback we had from all our guests (60+ of our guests stayed over) was exceptional. The bridal suite is amazing and offers fantastic views of the grounds.

Our toastmaster for the day was Sandro Farinha. We didn't meet Sandro until the day before the wedding, but our first impression was that he would be attentive, friendly and accommodating throughout our special day - and he didn't disappoint! He expertly controlled proceedings and with his team delivered the service in a professional and efficient manner. We had many comments from our guests as to how friendly and dilligent he was and we could not recommend him highly enough for other people's weddings.

A special mention should also go to Phillip Reeves who looked after us from the first time we went to Brownsover. Nothing is too much trouble and he really made us feel welcome.

We also had a live band called The Kicks and they commented on how accommodating and helpful the team at Brownsover were for their needs.

All in all Brownsover helped to make our wedding the most memorable day and we will certainly be back in the future. Thank you!

Very impressive property, in a hugely handy location for the M1, M6, M69, Rugby, etc, and surprisingly quiet - just the very distant noise of trains.
Evidently a fair bit if money has been spent on this place, in its courtyard and stables area, but it's clearly a money pit for a company that lacks the resources of the big hitters.
Just felt a bit worn and un-polished to me, inspite of helpful and friendly staff.
Bedroom fine, bed OK, pillows useless, bathroom OK, but needed a decent up-to-date shower, and a new loo seat - no excuses there.
Breakfast OK rather than marvellous.
Would I go back for convenience and a quiet night's sleep? Yes, (with my own pillows!).
Would I book it for an extra special occasion, like an anniversary or a Birthday? No - I've been to better places.

Thank you very much for your comments and am pleased you enjoyed a quiet stay. I am sorry we fell short of your expectations in other areas. We do have rolling programme of maintenance and renewal in all areas of the operation as you might expect for a Grade II listed property and do our best to keep ahead. I hope you considered Brownsover Hall good value and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

We stayed here for one night and it was brilliant. We had booked a special deal with Prosecco and chocolates included in the room price. The room was a lovely and a good size, as was the bathroom. The reception staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was very nice held in a lovely room with very good choices. A brilliant stay

Superb Hall with large stately rooms, brilliant staircases and very nice stable blocks, in a nice wooded setting away from roads and noise. Food was pricey and the steak not worth the £22 price tag as it was a bit tough but the chips were gorgeous. Very nice breakfast is served and well worth a visit. I hear there is access to a fitness centre but at another hotel away from this one

Room Tip: There are some very nice rooms available if staying for a while, the one in the stable block is on t...

Thank you so much for your comments and delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Apologies that the steak was a little tough for your liking and will monitor the meat quality for the future. We have an agreement with Virgin Actif, locally and can offer recreational facilities for those looking for a pool, gym and exercise rooms.
I look forward to welcoming you back to Brownsover Hall soon.
