“Well worth the money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

We stayed there for 3 nights, (my wife and I), and booked a superior room and were given the largest room in the house - I think it's also used a the honeymoon suite. the prices were very good and I must say that the breakfast was stunning, both in quality fresh products and taste. Plenty of it too! John, the owner was very friendly and attentive and appears to work 24/7! My only complaint - not really a complaint, but more of our personal preference, would be to clear some of the 'tat' from the rooms, like cuddly toys etc. and to update the en-suite which was small ( not a huge problem) and needing moderised, particularly the shower area. Apart from this, it was very good value for money and we had a very nice stay. We would certainly stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone.

We stay at Ambion Court for our honeymoon 3 years ago and were up that way on a holiday so thought we would stay for one night on our way home. It was as lovely as ever, we received a very warm welcome from John and were able to stay in our honeymoon room which made our stay even more special. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the bar chatting with John and our breakfast the next morning was superby, freshley cooked and beautifully presented, the free range farm eggs poached were excellent. We hope it wont be as long next time before we can visit again. Colette and David Polley

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ambion hotel last weekend. We originally booked a superior room for just one night but stayed an extra night as it was so quiet and relaxing there, and the bed was so lovely and comfortable!

The proprietor John is a lovely chap and cooked us delicious breakfasts. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here several times while working on a project in Hinckley. It is said to be converted from a farm, and most rooms open directly onto the courtyard. Rooms are comfortable (with occasional problems with night storage heaters), the owner is helpful and serves a decent English breakfast. Pleasant location on village green, on the opposite corner of which is a good pub/restaurant, with invigorating canal walks nearby.

I can't give enough praise to John who runs Ambion Court. I'd booked a night there as a surpirse for my boyfriend's 30th birthday after a day out in Liecs to save a long drive back home that night.

I'd told John the occasion and he'd been so thoughtful. There were balloons in the room, & a birthday candle with breakfast!

We stayed in the Pine Room which is his superior room. Lovely views over the village green, of what is such a lovely little village. We ate at the local pub that John kindly booked us into for our evening meal, and the whole experience was a delight.

  • Liked — Proper quaint English B&B that isn't seen much these days
  • Disliked — Nothing

Ambion Court is a beautiful hotel with such an attention to detail that you wouldnt find anywhere else other than the English Countryside. We stayed in the pine room on the first and last night of our honeymoon and it was perfect. The room was beautifully decorated to such a high standard, as it the rest of the hotel. John is very welcoming as is his wife, and they really care about how you enjoy your stay. Breakfast was delicious all freshly cooked to order. Everything about this hotel is excellent, it is situated in a quaint village overlooking the village green, a perfect setting to compliment a perfect place. We are looking forward to our next stay David and Colette Polley
