At last we have found a restaurant in Nuneaton which serves great food. We visited Anthony's after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and weren't disappointed. The restaurant is tiny but full of character. We started with a complimentary amuse-bouche of a very tasty leek and potato soup. This was followed by starters of risotto and a chorizo tart. Both were excellent. For main we had a succulent fillet steak, superbly served on a wooden board with a basket of home cooked chips and an excellent Stilton source. We also tried the belly pork and chutney, complete with crispy cracking. This was served with dauphinois potatoes and vegetables which again were perfectly cooked. Unfortunately we were too full to sample dessert but they looked lovely. A limited but adequate wine list started at a very reasonable £ 11.99. Both courses were well presented and served on warmed plates. And the negatives? To be honest I would be struggling to find any. The service, although friendly was a little slow but considering they had a number of large parties to serve, I think they coped well. Maybe candles on the table might have created a cosier and more intimate atmosphere when dining a deux. Would I go back? Absolutely!
