The Jail House is another institution of Nuneaton, with the building actually originating from the old jail of Nuneaton! It is one of the few buildings that has survived since the regeneration of the town centre and the Ropewalk shopping centre was built around 10 years ago.
The Jail House essentially does good pub grub, ranging from sandwiches to burgers and cooked breakfasts in the morning, all which are consistantly good. Apparently the carvery on a sunday is good too. What I like most about it is that the food all seems to be home made, not microwaved or boil in the bag like most pub-chains food is.
If your in the town centre during the day and fancy a bite to eat, then the Jail House would be one of my main choices to go to. However, I can't jump and rave about it because it just does honest pub grub. For an affordable bit of lunch, i'd choose the Jail House over Wetherspoons/The Abbey any time!
