“Disappointing Christmas day lunch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2011

You have my original draft.
I can only repeat what I have already said. However, the proprietor has contacted me and agreed to refund the cost of my daughters meal and offered a free meal to my family as compensation.

£90 for lunch. A fine champagne served in a comfortable lounge, but not large enough to accommodate the number of guest, causing some to move into the dining area. Asked for vegetarian options. was told that I could have what I wanted. I requested a prawn starter followed by a nut roast. The starter apeared as a small amount of SHRIMPS, covered in maionnaise with some leaves on the side. The nut roast appeared as a minimal amount of roast vegetables and some loose nuts. No roast potatoes and no gravy. A complaint to the dining room Supervisor brought the response, Never mind, you will have plenty of flavour. A further complaint to the project manager brought the response, Well, when I gave the request to the chef he said that he did not know what a nut roast was. It was obvious that neither of them had taken the trouble to to find out. A quandry: Walk out, and spoil the rest of the day, or grin and bear it?
The traditional roast faired not much better. The turkey served to me was an uninterseting slice of thigh. The sprouts were not cooked. Not al dente, just not cooked, and barely warm. There were many murmerings regarding the sprouts, and many found their way back to the kitchen. The cheese course was made up of reasonable blue cheese accompanied by a very tired looking type of brie, just piled on a plate with neither having achieved an acceptable temperature, and with a very few biscuits. The waiting staff were very attentive and it must be said that an attempt had been made at presentation.
A complaint to the owner elicited an apology and a promise to get in touch in the following week and arrange a refund. As of 9th January he has not made contact.

We had our 40th wedding anniversary party here for 90 people in dec 2010. They did an outstanding job. The meal was one of the best we have eaten for a large group. The bedrooms are very comfortable and original. The stables block with its bar, dance area and sitting out lounge is ideal for an evening party. The level of service and attention to detail quite exceptional. Breakfast the following morning equally efficient and well cooked. The whole experience could not be bettered. We have been to many such events and arranged a few and this was as good as it gets

We fell in love with this hotel the moment we got out of the car 2 years ago when our planning began. The hotel and surroundings are breathtaking with amazing uninterrupted views over the countryside, including a walled herb garden, ponds with huge carp and large manicured gardens. (Lots of gorgeous photo opportunities)
The hotel is warm and inviting holding our wedding breakfast in the large beautiful function room in the main hotel, and the newly converted stables is modern and stylish and self contained - this was where we held our evening reception- perfect not to disturb other guests.
Our Food was gorgeous - original, really well presented and to a very high standard - we have been complemented by all who attended. Breakfast next morning was gorgeous.
The service was second to none - you could not ask for more attentive staff during our stay. They were part of what made the day unforgettable.
Our Room - the huge beautifully decorated honeymoon suite - on the top floor with a huge balcony overlooking the countryside. (Plus has a large wardrobe in which perfectly fits dress which I very helpful Full of complimentary toiletries and has tea and coffee, iron, TV etc. They had even arranged some cards which had been given to reception on our bed.
The wedding and events co-ordinator made us feel so at ease - she really took care of everything and took a lot of the stress away. Nothing was too much trouble. A real professional who really knows how to make a perfect wedding. Not only treating us like we were the only people that mattered but treating us like friends.
Would very highly recommend anyone to get married here - will guarantee an unforgettable day.

We stayed here for one night, a lovely place for a weekend. Beautiful grounds, the downside being the motorway which is very loud although you can't hear it when you're inside.

My husband and I went to take a track event in Kenilworth a month or so ago and the organisers gave us a list of local accomodation. Two didn't answer the phone, one number was a fax number and the last one remaining was Nuthurst. So it wasn't our first choice.
We were astonished at the beauty of the surroundings and our room was superb - the bathroom even had a jacuzzi ! The pinnacle of the day was the quality of the food - the last time I had such a good meal was at the Manoir au Quatre Saisons in Oxfordshire. On top of this, the staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly - and it wasn't forced at all. It must be a happy place to work. All of this for the room rate of £100 per night for both of us !

We will certainly return and give it a high recommendation.

My sister in law got married in the new stables building at Nuthurst Grange and had her wedding meal and reception there. The venue is quite stunning, a beautiful country house with well kept gardens and a fantastic view across the Warwickshire countryside.

The wedding ceremony itself went off without any hitches and the meal and the service was excellent. The piece de resistance for me was our room - a huge room with large bay windows looking out over the fields, a four poster bed and well appointed furniture and furnishings and even better in the morning - a airspa bath the bubbles in which got rid of my hangover!!

Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the service was excellent.

The hotel is quite expensive, but you get what you pay for and I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a special, romantic evening with great food and stunning rooms.

The owner has very recently converted the stables and barns into the most perfect venue for weddings, parties, both private and office and other functions.
It has been extremely well designed and refurbished to a very high standard. We asked for excellence and received it; the service from staff was both discreet and slick, and came with a smile. The standard of food was high and the chef personally came to check that all was well. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their overnight stay . We couldn't fault it.
