“Like being back at University”

Stayed here for one night. The main house and public areas are beautiful. The grounds are fabulous. That's where the good review ends. The room that I stayed in was on a par with a university dormitory. It was incredibly small, the bathroom was very dated and the water literally trickled out of the shower. There was no air conditioning and the room was so warm that it made it impossible to sleep. Not sure I would stay again.

Recently stayed at hotel for a conference. The conference facilities were good and the food was fab. The main house is very luxurious and the gardens were very pretty. Staff were very helpful. My whole group were made to feel at home at the hotel for the 3 days we spent there I was a bit disappointed in the rooms as they were much like a travel lodge in style which did not suit the lovely country house. the rooms were clean with good bed linen and towels but lacked the refinement which should have gone with the rest of the hotel. this did not spoil my stay and i would stay at this hotel again in the future.

Room Tip: some rooms have doors by the staircase avoid these as they can be noisy

Stayed here for a night last month as I was attending a wedding, the rooms are very basic very dusty and boiling hot!

First impressions were good, receptionist very helpful and polite.

Upon entering the room it all looked ok but when you look closer you can see that it really is not clean at all, very very grubby bathroom and dusty corners. Stained carpets and a not so nice bath. The showers are dreadful! It's such ashame because the rest of the estate seems to be perfect! The accommodation is in serious need of refurb!

But other than that I had a fantastic time and would recomend it as a wedding venue, I would just advise you're guests to stay at a different hotel close by.

We got married here on 16th August and all in all we had a fantastic day, that was well organised, the food was good, the staff were excellent and generally it was a memorable day. The grounds are amazing and the wedding packages on offer are great value in comparison to other venues we looked at. We found the co-ordinators really good (Mia & Lucy) and very helpful, and the staff on the day were good. We only had 2 criticisms, which were the rooms are very basic, but we knew that from the outset. At £69 per night, you tend to get what you pay for. Also a few of our gifts disappeared which was upsetting, and to compound this the attitude of the hotel post wedding has been pretty poor in regard to this matter. This has left a slightly bitter taste but not soured the experience altogether as you can see from the rating. If we could do it again we would ensure our letter box was out from the very start of the day as we asked.

We had an overnight stay at Dunchurch Park along with other members of our family for a family wedding. It is difficult to give an overall rating to represent our experience which fluctuated from excellent to poor. The hotel and grounds are perfect for a wedding and we thought that the organisation and food/drink were excellent. Our issues were around the rooms and security. We went to reception at 1.00pm on the off chance that our room might be ready. It wasn't but the receptionist helpfully let us check in so that all we needed to do was pick up the key at 3.00pm after the room had been cleaned. After the wedding and photos I went to reception at 3.45pm to pick up the key. Unfortunately this wasn't a quick process as there was only one person on reception and she was dealing with someone who was trying to check in when the hotel were saying that they were not due for another week! Eventually I get the key only to take our bags into a room which has not been touched since the previous occupant left. I then find a cleaner and ask if the room can be cleaned next so that i can leave our things and get back to the wedding. She apologises and says that they have been very busy and that i can leave the bags in the room and they will clean it. I decided not to do this due to the large notice in the room stating that there are criminal gangs in the area and not to leave valuables in the room - this was a ground floor room with the windows open - and so I waited outside the room until they had finished cleaning. The room itself was fine albeit a little small but certainly adequate for a one night stay. We later found out that other guests did have issues with the room including one of our party who said that the inside of their door appeared to have food thrown on it! Bearing in mind the Hotel's warning on security we then found the process for secure storage at reception to be bizarre. One of our party left an expensive camera with them but had to demand a receipt. Another left valuables with reception and did not ask for a receipt. When he came to pick these up before going to the room there was no one on reception so he went into the secure storage area himself to retrieve his belongings! Whilst our experience was unsatisfactory it did not detract from an excellent wedding event. With a bit of money spent on the rooms and with better organisation and security this could be a great hotel.

On arrival the receptionist wasn't very helpful, she didn't really explain where our room was very well. Our room had 2 extra beds in, one of which collapsed as soon as our daughter sat on it, the duty manager did change it pretty quickly, but then we noticed the replacement was not very sturdy either. We had an attic type room which only had windows in the ceiling so was quite stuffy and got very warm. The towel rail in the bathroom was hanging off and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The shower leaked. We noticed that someone had been into the room while we were out and made our bed but left our children's beds unmade which we thought was strange.
The venue was a lovely setting for a wedding and grounds fantastic. It's such a shame that some of the staff and the quality of accommodation do not match the wedding facilities. Travellers should also be aware that when we stayed, the hotel did not have CCTV or safes in rooms which could prove to be a security risk.

My Husband & I held our Wedding at Dunchurch Park on 8th August 2013 & it was truly the best day of our lives, it was made even more special by the staff at Dunchurch especialy by Mia (our wedding planner) & Tony (our MC) I couldnt have asked for anything more! From the first time i saw Dunchurch i fell in love with it, from the grounds to the rooms! We stayed there for 2 nights and the hotels rooms were very clean & lovely. Our wedding went so smoothly & perfect! The wedding breakfast was delicious & was served promptly. We were well looked after for the whole day.

Our wedding planner Mia did a really fantastic job. I trusted her completley with all our plans! She was always happy, friendly & polite & was always there with any answers to my millions of queries! I couldnt have asked Mia to do anymore for us! :)

I would highly recommend Dunchurch Park for anybody who is looking for a fantastic wedding venue as you are sure to receive amazing service! :)
