We have lived in Washington for 34 years and for some reason never got around to visiting the Blacksmith Table.Silly Us!!!!
We went to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary on 12.12.12.
We booked in advance and used our Tastecard (No december restrictions here!) and ignored the rather sumtuous looking Festive Menu and stuck with the Al la Carte.
We were greeted by the owner who took time out to explain the dishes on the menu and highlight the very good selection of reasonably priced wines.( I was driving so we chose 500ml of "House" New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.) I had a small glass, the other half enjoying the remainder.
The food was delicious, the mains accompanied by perfectly prepared vegatables, the starters were as Michael Winner would say "Historic"!
We decided against what our stomachs were telling us and enjoyed a delicious dessert each, followed by Coffee (my wife's was an experimental blend which was delicious, and we discovered when we got home that it wasn't even charged for.
Overall a lovely experience, with good, attentive and very pleasant service from the owner and his hard working, very thorough staff.
We may have been about 20 years late in discovering this little gem, but we will certainly be making up for lost time in 2013!
