“A little gem of a place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

Visited Reigate last Sunday for a christening and were too early so stopped here for breakfast. Really lovely place and staff very friendly....best eggs Benedict I have tasted! Only sorry we did not have room to try all the delicious cakes and scones on offer.

“Perhaps because its a weekday....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Normally we would attend at the weekend but today we went with the intention of having a light meal and a cup of tea. The two women working there were obviously looking to leave for the day as at 4pm (Teatime!) it was getting near to home time. Intending to order a panini and a flatbread we were told whilst we were looking at the menu that they weren't 'doing' food at that time and it would depend upon what we wanted as to whether they could prepare it or not. Made to feel awkward we said not to worry and would leave. The woman serving said she could make the two items we had chosen on the menu and tea. The food arrived and wasn't really up to the same standard. The side salad was just green leaves (no dressing as is usual). The tea ordered did not arrive. The food arrived and 5 minutes later we had to ask for the tea. The woman said she was sorry and that she had forgotten! (its a teashop!!). We decided to pass on the cake as the experience left us thinking it was time to go! Others arrived as we were leaving and they were told it was just tea and cake being served. As we paid the woman serving was I thought quite curt saying 'there you go' when giving the receipt and did not say thank you. £16 for two light meals and tea isn't cheap so one would expect a good level of service. The owner, normally in attendance is always very nice and welcoming. The food usually very good. The weekday staff need to maintain the high standards set by the owner or else trade will dwindle. It certainly didn't make us feel like rushing back....

“Just good tea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

For someone who loves tea over coffee this place is perfect. Be warned though not entirely child friendly due to the fabulous cups and saucers!

“Perfect tea room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

This is my idea of tea shop heaven. Lovely fresh scones, thick rich cream and good tea served in pretty china.
I've had some delicious salads here and the cakes are good too.
Great service and a lovely atmosphere, with an assortment of unusual and pretty things to buy if you're in the mood to shop!
