Have visited Reigate's Carluccios a couple of times now. First time I had the pasta puttanesca, which should be robust and flavoursome, but this version was like a bad, bland tomato sauce out of a jar....very disapponting. Second visit I had the "poached chicken" salard supposedly with hazelnuts and prunes. It was the bitterest, dryest and most flavourless salad I've had. I think I found two little "bits" of prune! Come on Carluccio's you can do better this this! All these chains are competing and I would rate Cafe Rouge and Zizzi's better options. Plus I resent paying £8 for a large glass of Pino Grigio. Almost £40 for two fairly flavourless mains and two glass of wine! I won't bother again. Staff are pleasant enough, although you are made to feel they are doing you a favour in finding you a table (ok it's busy at the moment because its new in Reigate) but (as with a lot of chain restaurants), when they come and do the obligatory "is everything ok" question they don't know how to react when you say actually it's not!
