We brought our friend here as we had read shining reviews and wanted to treat her to a decent lunch before she went home.
On arrival, we were told to find a table by the bartender, possibly manager. We sat for ten to fifteen minutes before someone came over to us. It would have been nice to be acknowledged sooner, as it wasn't busy. We were asked by the same bartender what we would like to drink.
My boyfriend asked what was available and was greeted with a "what...do you want me to read you the whole menu or something?" We were quite taken aback by this abrupt response and did not feel welcomed at all! It was a perfectly reasonable question to ask of a bartender and not an acceptable way to speak to customers.
We ordered a curry of the day, the lamb and the lemon sole, after which someone returned to tell us they had no lemon sole and to choose something else. Food came out in good time but all three meals were agreed to be average and tasteless.
After reading reviews, we were expecting something a bit special and left very disappointed. There was no warm or friendly atmosphere and we felt like we were little more than a nuisance to the staff.
