“good for a quickie”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

David and I went there for a quick meal after cinema, not bad but not that good. I had as always prawn won tun soup and D has vegetable tempura. D had his usual hot prawn vegetable dish and a side noodles as a main and as a change I had a prawn noodle dish (a bit dry without any sauce/liquid). A couple of ice creams to finish. D had 2 glasses of house white cheap and cheerful. under £50 incl tip. Monday evening pretty empty

“past its best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

two of us used to go to this local restaurant regularly but recently have become a bit disappointed with the quality of the main courses in particular. Starters are ok. I like the soups and other things are ok. I usually have red chicken curry as a main dish with rice but now realise the strips of chicken are pretty tasteless and the sauce a bit thin. I compare the quality of the chicken with Waitrose Chicken Tikka Masala. My other half likes prawn dishes but they are not as good as they used to be. Again there is no comparison with the quality of Waitrose prawn dishes. House wine cheap and cheerful, not great. To compensate the staff are always very friendly.

“Extremely well cooked and tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

Most people may not have noticed Patcharee Thai Restaurant as it is located away from town centre and behind Kingston train station. This is a very good restaurant with extensive menu offering the usual and popular Thai dishes. The place is very spacious with ceiling to floor glass window, decorated with various Thai figurines, pictures, and handcrafted tables and chairs imported from Thailand. It has an excellent value-for-money lunch set menu at £6.99 consisting of a choice of starters and main courses with plain rice (This menu is available every lunch hours but not advertised on their web site). I am a regular of this place and found the food always well cooked, tasty and hot, and that one could always smell and taste the 'wok hei' of food (food cooked in extreme high heat over a wok which enable one to taste the infusion of the red hot wok and burnt elements in your food). Extremely well cooked and tasty food but do not expect big portion.
