“Great pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Wood oven baked pizza offered in 3 sizes, my partner and I chose the regular size which was plenty and delicious, I recommend the chilli oil which is served in a remequin and where you can access the chillies if you like! Wines by the glass starting at £4.00, soft drinks from under £2.00.
Nice surrounding, offer outside seating too. For a quick lunch we definitely will return.

“Great food and value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Food is delicious and reasonably priced. There is a lot of choice. Service is very friendly though occasionally disorganised depending on who is serving.
Very welcoming to families with children

“Not again in a hurry”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

I headed to Al Forno last night with a large(ish) group for a Stag Do. There were 16 of us in total and we had pre-booked. Upon arrival at 8pm we were quickly seated and had to wait until 820 for someone to take our drinks order. The drinks arrived at 835 and then our food choices were taken at 845. The starter didnt arrive until 920 and the main was there at 950.

I could understand if the restaurant was full, but I would say that it was only half occupied. Also the Waiter stated that they had run out of pint glasses and so they had to bring out two half pints for each drink ordered.

The food was ok quality but nothing special and no apology was made by the staff for the awful amount of time it took to get served.

I know that there are better restaurants in the local area and would not go back to the restaurant in a hurry, if at all.

“Great atmosphere, good food, but very erratic service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We visited last week, making a reservation was easy though we both had a feeling that holding a reservation was no guarantee on getting seated on a busy night.
A great menu, well cooked and presented food & a lively atmosphere but.....
The service was nothing if not erratic, we were waited on by at least six members of staff.
The `musical' accompaniment or karaoke in the restaurant was too loud and rather intrusive.
Where we were sat, a continual procession of guests going to the bar was a little disconcerting.
To conclude, good value but not a relaxing evening

“Lively Atmosphere, Lively Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We ended up here after a walk up river on a busy evening looking for a restaurant. Most of the waterfront places were overcrowded and the open-air venues were too cold so we crossed the street to Al Forno. It was very busy, but tables were still available. The place has a good range of dishes from pasta, to pizza to meats, poultry and fish. I stared with meat dumplings and followed with a nice place of spaghetti which was very well cooked: al dente! The place has a great atmosphere. The waiting staff is cheerful, jovial and playful even if they must have been very busy. I will certainly visit here again.
