“Comfy and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

This Premier inn was handily situated for our destination, Epsom Racecourse, and easy to find. The general manager greeted us at reception and was extremely cheerful, polite and helpful. She went out of her way to help and even called a local restaurant to see if we would need to book. Much better service than I usually expect from a budget chain hotel.

The room was clean, spacious and surprisingly quiet. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel. Overall, service and accommodation were excellent for the price.

Sadly, the efforts of the hotel staff and management are let down a bit by the attached pub which acts as bar and restaurant for the hotel. When we stayed, two of three real ales were not on. They ran out of lime juice. They ran out of the whisky I had been drinking after one glass. The carvery was only partly open and the rest of the menu was not being served. All small things, but together they gave the impression of a once decent business slowly beginning to slide downwards. A shame, as the hotel itself is very good.

Thank you so much for your review, I am glad you found the service and accommodation to be excellent. Our aim is exceed the expectations of our guests and I am pleased to read your comments about our Premier Inn.
Sadly, the restaurant and pub next door did not live up to your expectations, the Queen Adelaide pub and restaurant belongs to Orchid Group and be ensured I will be discussing your comments with the Restaurant Manager and fixes will be put in place to ensure this will not happen again.
The team and myself really hope to welcome you back soon at our Premier Inn and should you wish to eat at one of the local restaurants instead we will be very happy to help you making those arrangements.
Thank you once again for taking the time to leave your comments on this website.
Genny Costantini, General Manager.

A quiet position off the dual carriageway, and useful for a Christmas stopover when visiting relatives, so didnt sample the Queen Adelaide. Our first room had a window which wouldnt shut and a heater that didnt work, but after some negotiation we were moved to another large room with heating so that was fine. Not noisy and plenty of room in the car park.

Thank you very much for your review, I apologise for the issues you experienced in the first room. I am the new General Manager at this Premier Inn, however I am aware those issues were resolved rapidly after your stay. Also, recently we have carried out a survey in all rooms and ensured all windows and facilities are well maintained and in working order. I am pleased you rated rooms and cleanliness as very high whilst the service rating shows there should be some improvement. At Premier Inn our main objective remains to offer a high level of customer service and your feedback has been shared with the team.
Once again thank you for taking the time to review your stay, we do hope that we can welcome you back to our Premier Inn in the near future.
Kind Regards, Genny Costantini

I stayed two nights and found the room extremley comfortable and spotlessly clean. The reception was very welcoming and helpful and was well versed in local information. Breakfast at the adjoining Queen Adelaide was very good as was the evening carvery which I thought was very good value. The management and staff were very welcoming and made one feel much at home. I would certainly wish to stay another time.

We were woken up 5 times from 10.30pm to 1.05am by banging/slamming of the communal main doors. Whatever you do, do not stay in room 1. The wall of the room is ajoined with the main communal doors, so you here everyone coming in. During the night, we complained to reception twice about the noise. We were told we could be moved to another branch (as the hotel was fully booked) or we could have a full refund. We opted for the refund and left early in the morning - our alarm call was a child running up and down the corridor! Staff were nice but hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed in.

Stayed here - family of 4 - for 3 nights while exploring London over Easter. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet, staff were helpful. Building itself is round the back of the pub. Car park could do with better lighting at night (so you can drive round the potholes!). You know what you get with a Premier Inn - good value.

This is a small Premier Inn located behind the Queen Adelaide carvery on the A240 Kingston Road. It's more accurately described as Stoneleigh/Ewell rather than Epsom.

I spent three nights here and the room was to the standard Premier Inn spec including colour Tv, ensuite toilet and bath/shower, desk mounted room fan and a comfortable double bed. The room was very clean and everything worked ok.
It has to be the quietest Premier Inn I have ever stayed at. From the room I was in, you would never know you were so close to a dual carriageway.
All the staff I met at the hotel were freindly and helpful.

Breakfast service was ok, but I didn't try an evening meal as I was surprised that of the three real ales on display, none were available. The barman just shrugged, so I took my custom elsewhere. Within 5 minutes walk are all sorts of takeaways and restaurants including a chip shop, pizza takeaway, kebab house, curry house and Chinese takeaway. A bit further away in Stoneleigh are all sorts of shops and restaurants plus a railway station for a 35 minute journey to London Waterloo.

The car park is larger than it appears when you first turn off the A240. It is worth noting that you can only access the hotel site whilst heading south east towards Ewell on the A240. If coming from the Ewell direction a U turn can be done after you pass the hotel.

  • Liked — Extremely quiet room
  • Disliked — Three real ales on offer in the bar yet none available!
