“Great quality food and good service”

Stopped off for a quick bite at lunchtime.
Smoked salmon bagel and Roast beef with horseradish baguette
Very impressed for the price. Excellent value. Great location away from traffic noise!

“MISSED OPPORTUNITY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Its a bit baffling that such a smart hotel has such a tired and amateur brasserie. It has an idyllic river setting, spacious with plenty of outdoor seating, but the decor is dated and scruffy and the atmosphere zero with loud canned music ("sorry, it's controlled from reception"). The service was indifferent, an awkward mix of queue at the bar and waiters that improved once a friendly manager appeared halfway through the lunch service.
The food was hearty pub fare , but no way lived up to its gastropub pretensions.
What a missed opportunity - this location should be a magnet for locals and tourists alike.
Would we return? I don't think so.
