“Another Excellent Premier Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Been staying in Premier Inn's since 1997 and what I really like about them is their consistency, reliability and the quality of the staff.

This is really important to us as we travel with two very little children and have enough to do and it's great to be able to rely on the hotel.

We had a big family room. Both receptionists we dealt with were really nice.

Great location too. Not bad value.

Stayed one night, dropped off luggage early morning as off out to a family lunch didn't stagger back until late in the evening. Luggage found and booked in. Room was spotless and bed was very comfortable. Left early the following morning for train home. Only used the bar in the attached Beefeater for a night cap as we'd eaten so much during the day. Have used the restaurant several times before and its always been good

Up to Premier Inn's usual standards. A minor glitch in the room type had happened in the booking system, but was very quickly sorted out. Very friendly greeting, and typical and familiar Premier Inn room meant a good night's sleep.
I didn't use the dining facilities in the evening, but had breakfast next door in the Beefeater. A charming building, and food was OK too. Breakfast starts at 0700 at the weekend - not something that was obvious from the website, and was a bonus for us.
Nice parkland surroundings, and easy to find (using the postcode in SatNav)

Room Tip: For a hotel so handy to motorway and London, it was very quiet in all respects. Breakfast is in a lo...

A bit out of the way (no local eateries or shops, as it's sited in a wooded area out of town), the hotel is next to a Beefeater - all part of the Whitbread empire. Breakfast is cooked to order, so no dried up hot buffet, and there is a Costa Coffee also attached.
My car had a broken window, but there is an on-site security guard and they let me park next to Reception so they could keep an eye on it.
On my second night I ordered a Chinese Takeaway from Reception (it's delivered from a local shop), but I wasn't really impressed, and probably wouldn't do that again.
Reception staff and Housekeeping staff were really friendly and helpful, and for a change, I got a strong wi-fi signal.
If there was an issue, it was that the heating is an old system and kept turning itself off, meaning that I was cold during the night.

Quiet location. Friendly. helpful welcome. Room comfortable and clean. Very spacious for a budget hotel. Bathroom spotless and very well lit. We had ordered a taxi prior to arriving. When it failed to turn up the receptionist contacted a local firm who came within a few minutes. Bed very comfy and room not too hot. Great shower. Breakfast lovely with a good fruit salad and cooked food hot and delicious. All in all an excellent stay for a very good price.

Great location, very quiet due to the setting within a wooded area, and rooms are well back from the road. Had no occasion to try the catering facilities this trip, but have used them in the past, and they are great. Staff very helpful with spares for drinks, taxi organisation and how to get to the restaurant we were attending for a family birthday celebration. Rooms extremely clean.
