5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

I have stayed here twice now, extremely good value for money, the breakfast options are great including the quality of the food. The rooms were great both times, very clean and modern. Very conveniently located 3 mins walk from train station and town centre. Very quiet and staff extremely helpful. Had one problem and the staff were great and sorted it out immediately. Will definitely stay in future.

Room Tip: The end rooms are cooler

I stayed at this Premier Inn for a couple of nights in November while I was moving between apartments.

The room was clean and so was the bathroom. As a chain, if you've been to a Premier Inn before, you'll know what to expect in terms of decor and room contents of this one (spacious room, no safe, simple bathroom, no amenities).

Only 30 mins of wifi is free per day, otherwise if you need more you'll have to pay. £3 will get you a 24 hour pass.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and certainly made me feel very welcome at the hotel. I needed some plane boarding tickets printed, and I was able to send it to them by email and they printed them off for me (without charge).

In terms of location this hotel is very close to East Croydon train station and bus and tram stops, and is a short walk to a shopping centre.

Overall I found this to be a very good hotel.

Premier Inn is a very nice hotel, located within 3-5 minutes walking distance from the central train station of East Croydon (trains to Gatwick and London Victoria, buses, trams). A big shopping mall (Whitgift) can be reached on foot in 5 minutes. Cafes, bars and restaurants can be found all around the wider region (prefer the route to South Croydon, however this will take you at least 15 minutes).

I stayed in a big room, with a very comfortable double bed, a desk and a small sofa. The bathroom was normally sized and there were no special amenities provided for business travelers, as there should be. During the night the room was getting a little bit cold, the a/c system didn't seem to work well. The room was generally quiet, however there were several times (at normal hours only) that I could hear people walking noisily through the corridors, which was kind of annoying. The breakfast was exceptionally good: a rich buffet with a big variety of many different things, for everyone to be satisfied. The breakfast lounge is open at very convenient hours for everyone.

I should not forget to mention that the staff was very helpful and smiling and were ready to provide any information needed. Keep in mind that the reception is on the 1st floor and there is no concierge service - so, bring only as many bags as you can carry yourself.

Some other minor cons:
Although I was hanging the towels so as not to have them changed daily (as it was stated on a label), they were always being replaced by new ones (environmental friendliness?).
Wi-fi was not included in the price (only 30 min. free per day). For full access you need to pay 3 £ (daily) or 10 £ (weekly).
Car parking is not an option, as the hotel only has 3 parking lots for disabled people only.

By the way, the main picture here (on Tripadvisor) does not remind me of the hotel entrance (seek for the picture "Hotel Entrance" by dmawson, Aug 2013 - this is the right one!) .

First class staff managing a first class Premier Inn. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Very convenient for the railway station and for access by rail to London.
A new Premier Inn which is a credit to the company.

went in September this year, think it had only been open for 2 weeks. Very organised, clean, quiet. The staff were very friendly, especially the bar man, who we spent hours chatting too whilst having a drink. good location, not long to walk to the train station, & few clubs nearby if a night out wanted. only cost me £20 to park from the friday night til sunday evening. Best premier inn i've stayed in & a lot better than any other hotel i've been to.

Wonderful welcome and honest staff make this place a treat.....the attentive staff and the fact that the place was spotless, made the stay all the more enjoyable....breakfast on both mornings was terrific....any issues just ask....they try their hardest to answer every whim......they were all lovely from the start of the stay all the way until the end...definitely be back when seeing all my pals again....The amenities (when you're not getting drunk) are all on the doorstep...train station to London, shops a plenty....oh and there are a couple of lovely pubs....!!

Excellent as a base, close to a sizable shopping area, and only about 30 minutes from London Victoria. Hotel is about a 7 minute walk from East Croydon Rail station and from there trains run to Victoria are very regular, every few minutes
