“Wonderful stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

My son and I stayed at this hotel for two nights, really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice and spacious and very clean and the hotel is in excellent location for access to the theme park. However, when wechecked in no information was provided about when dinner/breakfast was served, opening times of the park, times of the kids entertainment or how to operate the lifts with the room card. Unfortunately, another negative was the food we received during the evening meal. As we booked in a group of approx 30 we were not allowed to dine in the main restaurant and were put in a function room, in our mind 'out of sight'. The quality of the food we received was to a acceptable standard, however no choice was available, and the pizza my son received on the first night was very rich and very strong considering the food was served after 8pm (bit late) and we were only offered water on our first night. Fair play to the chief he took our comments on board and tea/coffee and juice was available on the second evening, but yet again no choice with the food. However, the breakfast buffet was very nice and we were allowed to dine in the main restaurant both mornings.

All in all we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel, with a brilliant park for the children to play

We booked well in advance for 2 nights on Saturday 10th Aug and Sunday 11th. ( 2 adults, 2 kids 5 & 3)
Booked on the internet with the hotel directly - easy to do but could have done with a bit more information.
The hotel was very easy to find and parked easily. The check-in process was slow and slightly haphazard - our room wasn't ready ( not hotels fault, we were a bit early) and the receptionist dealing with us wandered off. The room was small for a family room but spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Bed comfy but why do hotels insist on using flat not fitted sheets and the quilts are always too small for the quilt cover !
Great play area outside, fantastic breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff. We had dinner there one night and it was SO expensive. £7 for a large glass of wine - that's just greedy !
All these things are really minor gripes though as I have worked as a hotel reception manager before. The staff were nice, the rooms were clean, it was right next to the theme park and even hto we counted 4 brides over the whole weekend, we were not disturbed by noise. Would definately recommend.

Stayed August 2013 with husband, 7 yr and 3 yr old. We had a Thomas themed room (room 22) and it was great! dvd players at the end of each bunk bed for the kids in a themed thomas area and we had our own area with flat screen tv, good clean room with nice en-suite, though wish there were more toiletries available in the bathroom as there was no shampoo (we had forgotten ours) we were able to get a free very tiny one from reception though.

Great for our 2 day visit to Drayton Manor, really easy access to the entrance of the park, literally about 2 mins walk away. Would definately stay again.

Stayed here overnight after visiting the theme park. It was a good hotel, the amenities were not in the luxury category but satisfactory for our needs. The rooms were of reasonable size, generally clean - there were several cobwebs in ours. There was a plentiful supply of coffee and the towels were of a good size & fluffy. Breakfast was also of a reasonable standard with a good choice of hot & cold dishes. The bed was not to our liking - too hard - so we did not get a good night's sleep. The bed linen was also worn with holes in a couple of the sheets. Happily the staff were great, helpful, cheerful & gave good advice. We were tired after a day queuing for rides & enjoying the park & so we ordered room service. The food was OK but the price was excessive. Three sandwiches, two bowls of chips & a cup of coffee - £28!
Due to its close proximity to the park we would probably stay there again but the prices did seem "over the top" & would make us consider alternatives.

You will not be dissapointed! It is a lovely hotel and is in the perfect location, in Drayton Manor! Stayed here along with 3 others. The hotel is spotless, has lovely rooms, has a lovely seating area outside where you can sit with some drinks and order food from the restaraunt which is also very nice. We were so impressed that we actually went to check prices to stay some extra nights but unfortunatley we had to get home. The Themepark itself is brilliant for all ages, youngsters, children and groups of adults. There are also plenty on amenities just a 2 minte walk down the road including tesco express, a cash machine, a petrol garage, a chinese, an indian a chippy, EVERYTHING. We also spent a day away from the themepark and drobe into Birmingham bullring shopping centre which was a 20 minute drive away, and them we went to the local cinema and bowling complex. Wer shall definitley be returning!!!!

The Drayton Manor Hotel is a mere 5 minutes walk away from the Drayton Manor Theme Park, which makes it an excellent base if you’re there for the theme park. We were there with 2 young children, aged 3 and 5. We stayed in the Thomas & Friends Themed room, which our young children loved. The children’s bunk bed comes with 2 TVs cum DVD player, one for each child. Thomas & Friends DVD are offered for loan when you first check into the hotel. Each child was given a welcome gift pack that comprised of a storybook, coloring pages, and a 28-page magazine filled with activities, stickers and etc. I was pleasantly surprised by plenteous gift pack.

Overall, the room would have been perfect if not for the layers of dust we found in many parts of the room. The dust was not confided to a single area, which could understandably be missed while cleaning, but to many areas in the room. I was disappointed when I noticed the layers of dust on the adult’s bed headboard, on the children’s TV, on their bunk bed, and etc. There was even a dried patch of something on one of the Thomas blanket for the children. A hotel staff, which came in to assist us with operating the DVD player, noted the dust on the TV, blew them away onto the children’s bed! Not sure if this is an isolated case, but the state of cleanliness (or uncleanliness) is not acceptable. It’s a pity.

My daughter Sarah got married there on the 9th August, the people were very helpful, Matt on reception was lovely and friendly, the wedding co-ordinators, Nikki and Mike were brilliant, Mike really knew what he was doing, I know there was lots of other people helping but I did not get to know there names, they were all great. It is very well organised and they set the room and tables up beautifully. We stayed in the hotel for two nights, drinks were a little expensive, no faults with the rooms or the food, the Grill Inn was very good and the staff were very pleasant. I would definately stay again.
