“£29 a night, bargain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms, perfect for a cheap room when booked well in advance, carpark had pleanty of room, and rugeley town as short drive away, or a 15 minute walk.
didn't eat at the pub/resturant that was next door, instead we grabbed a quick breakfast from the popular fast food place opposite the hotel

Usual excellent Premier inn standard-very friendly staff-this is one of the newer hotels & also has air-con in the rooms. Located opposite a MacDonalds & next to a table to table pub which was very nice,we ate breakfast here every morning which was fab & one evening had the night time buffet -again very good. It is about a 20 min drive to Alton Towers although depending on traffic it takes up to 45 mins to get in due to queue's outside the park when its very busy. Its true the view is of a power station but we were up and out and back late so had the curtains closed LOL! Would definately return.

Excellent - does everything it says on the can!

Clean - tidy - friendly courteous staff - comfortable room - showers that adjust properly - 30 mins free wifi AND very good price for the daily rate of wifi which (pleasantly)surprised me.

The night before ans we travelled down country we had to stay in a Travelbodge what an absolute festering dump

Premier in Rugely had everything right that they had wrong.

Clean pleasant well decorated and extremely courteous an helpful reception staff.

Clean tidy well decorated comfortable room.

The bed was excellent - comfy and sufficiently high that It wasn't a struggle for me 'ole bones to get out of (a big plus)

The shower was excellent - it actually adjusted properly and held a constant temperature (another big plus)

And surprise (to me anyway) 30 minute free WiFi (a very big plus) I always carry a mobile stick with me, but didn't need it on this occasion cos with the free 30 minutes on a decent fast connection (11 meg on this visit -- smiles better than I get at home!!)

However the daily rate (had I needed it ) was excellent value - far far better than other places that are scruffy dumps.

And don't forget the restaurant next door - cracking breakfast to suit hungry horses (me) and excellent dinners to suit everyone

Oh yes Premier Rugely my first choice next time I'm down there

The hotel is located on a new business park on land opposite a power station so there are interesting views of the cooling towers and turbine hall. However once you shut the curtains you can't see it and you certainly can't hear it! The hotel is new and therefore in good repair and well appointed. Staff were friendly and the breakfast is the normal Premier Inn buffet. The coffee and water for tea are in flasks so can be a bit cold if they've been out for some time.

Good alternative to the ones closer to the M6 and therefore usually cheaper. We got a £29 deal on a Wednesday night.

There is a MacDonalds opening up opposite if you don't fancy a pub meal or arrive when they aren't serving.

Booked and paid in advance securing cheaper price which is good value. Do not be put off by its proximity to the power station. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. 24 hours of wi-fi for £3 is good value..Located next the Colliers restaurant (Table to Table)

We stay at Premier Inn hotels several times a year and stopped overnight here on the way down to friends in Essex. It's a new hotel so has a few extra touches the older hotels don't have. Really liked the bedroom unit that incorporated everything - the clothes hangers, television, shelves, drawers, tea/coffee making facilities and separate makeup mirror plus lighting. This meant that the desk area was uncluttered giving space for your own bits & pieces. The air conditioning unit did make a bit of noise during the night but we were so tired it didn't keep us awake. We opted for a Meal Deal - £22 each for a 3 course evening meal plus glass of wine or beer and full english breakfast the following morning. This was really good value and the food was excellent. The adjoining restaurant is one of our favourites (Table Table) which is also new and has a lovely warm atmosphere. Although the hotel is situated in the middle of an industrial park, there was little traffic noise. Would definitely stay here again.
