“A surprise birthday celebration.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

4th visit and as good as ever!

Ours was party of 10 as a surprise for my niece's 30th birthday. A keen football fan & always wanted to stay so was totally overwhelmed as the surprise unfolded. We had an overnight executive room spa package. We all loved our treatments & came out relaxed & refreshed. We also spent a lovely two hours in the swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi etc.

Check in was smooth & painless & my niece was so pleased to have a complimentary bottle of champagne & birthday card in her room, what a lovely gesture.

The evening celebrations started in the executive lounge with complimentary drinks & canapés, very civilised indeed, lovely to sit with family & friends and chat. We then went for dinner in the restaurant again another lovely gesture of balloons on the table. A sumptuous breakfast the next morning ended a perfect weekend!

The hotel is large & spacious with lovely views particularly from the dining room, it never felt crowded despite the receptionist saying the hotel was busy! Everyone in our party had only compliments to say & I think we'll be back soon.
Thank you everyone, you all made us feel welcome.

Room Tip: Any of the executive rooms are lovely, comfortable, clean & well maintained but an upgrade to th...

I'm a Hilton gold member so as you can expect my Hilton standards are high. The hotel staff her where rude and provided us with false information about insurance policies that don't exist. They wouldn't let my 16 year old daughter supervise my 12 year old in the pool. In every other Hilton this is allowed. I was told to remove my hat in the restaurant here by a rude and cheeky waiter. Do not stay in this hotel you'll regret it.

Visited and stayed for a conference. The hotel is very spacious, great facilities, amazing England memorabilia and pictures ( although having Gary Linekar spread eagle over you while you sleep is a bit off putting). The conference suite was well equipped, with good lighting and acoustics. Food was very good, during the day, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

The bedroom was very clean, with plenty of power points, good TV, comfortable bed good sheets. Bathroom was spotless with separate shower and bath both very nice. Only complaint was couldn't change the temp on the a/c and slept in a sweat box all night, the a/c seems to be centrally controlled.

Absolutely beautiful modern Hotel set in lovely surroundings. Public areas are very spacious and well set out, never feels crowded even when busy.
Food in the restaurant gets an average I'm afraid, they try hard but just kept getting things wrong.
The room a compact double was nice, with a lovely shower room. However they do seem to have an issue with the Air con. No matter what we tried, we couldn't get the temperature below 24c, it seemed to be set centrally and gave us no control. The receptionists were very helpful, but still couldn't get any joy, resulting in two very hot restless nights with little sleep.

Perhaps they had been acclimatizing the England Squad for Brazil and forgot to turn it down??
Come on Hilton you can do better.

Amaxing spa day 12th July the staff are first class and the lunch provide was very nice. We chose to order a glass of wine with our lunch again very nice until we checked out we thought £6.70 per glass was a expensive. We would have loved to spend the afternoon there if there had been somewhere to sit outside we probably would with the weather being so lovely. Also we found the chlorine in the swimming pool far to strong . All that said we will return maybe in the colder mths.

I was very disappointed in the new hotel considering all the money that has been spent.
My room did not have very much HOT water for showers or a bath.
When investigated the Reception informed me that it would take some time for all the hot water to come to my room if everyone was using the system at the same time
I told them even at 6.00am in the morning ??
