This was my first time staying at the hotel and although it is lovely I think it is so overpriced.. The rooms are to the standard of a budget hotel, they are nice but not worth the price you pay to stay there. We had dinner at Flambos next door in Splash Landings, it was very noisy as there was kids entertainment in another part of the building which blasted through the restaurant.. As for the food, about £20 each for all you can eat and drink.. It's an ok price, there isn't that much choice but there is something for everyone. Overall I think it is a great hotel to stay in once as there are lots of places to explore around the building (I love the enchanted lift!) and the gardens, and of course it is right next to the theme park but I won't be staying there again.

Generally had a good time staying at alton towers mainly because of the theme park it seems the hotels are aimed at the very upper middle class to upper class as these are the only type of people who can afford alton towers prices,we paid 220 for a one night stay at splash landings which is extortionate but it was our choice to pay but what really shocked us was the evening meal at flambos feast which cost us £85 for a family of 5 for sub standard food, this is just a greedy rip of and I think alton towers should have a good look at themselves and make the whole alton towers experience more affordable for the less well off.

Been to this hotel many times. Sometimes things are not always perfect and I write a report on here. However this time everything was tip top. I used the relaxation rooms with my sister. I luxury 3 hrs for only £15. Ropes slippers and towel provided for that price. Felt completely relaxed after coming out. Hotel and spa staff as usual friendly and helpful. Restaurant food more than satisfactory. We always go to flambo restaurant as it is a buffet with something for everybody. Evening entertainment a female singer who is really good. 10/10 this time alton towers hotel.

Stayed at the hotel whilst attending a wedding, the reception and bar downstairs are stunning with fun lifts and lots of quirky things to look at. The wedding venue was amazing, great private area away from other guests the food was brilliant and the service faultless, the only downside to the stay was the rooms, reasonably clean, but nothing special and the constant droning from heaters? I presume! The noise kept me awake all night and gave me a headache which impaired my enjoyment of the park the following day. The park itself was fantastic well worth a visit. I would recommend staying in the hotel because of the ease of travelling to the park by monorail and parking. It is very enjoyable but something needs to be done about the noisy rooms.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel was. We decided to spend a day at Alton Towers as a contrast to a much more relaxed two-day stay in Cumbria afterwards and we only booked the Alton Towers hotel for convenience. However, it was charming, comfortable and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

There was a problem with the till when we were there, meaning it took a long time to get a drink before dinner, but that's forgivable and the staff were apologetic and as helpful as possible. Dinner was lovely (a lot better than we might have expected from a theme park hotel restaurant) and the room was quiet, comfortable and had a nice view over the lake/pond.

The "explorer" theme was less intrusive and tacky than it might have been.

The breakfast buffet was what you would expect - lots of friend pork products, potential for over-eating, good selection of cereals and fruit and coffee from a machine. No complaints from us.

The theme park itself was brilliant, but then it was a sunny day in the middle of the week and there were almost no queues. Everything was very efficiently run.

The big surprise to me (other than how unobtrusive Alton Towers is) was the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The whole experience was a very happy one.

Only stayed one night at this hotel, 2 adults and 2 children (teens) had one double bed a set of rather dodgy looking bunk beds!! The room was exceptionally clean and tidy with more than enough towels, they even had different shampoos for the adults and the kids which we thought was nice - although it was aimed at younger children.

We enjoyed this hotel, the quirky touches really make this hotel a nice place to stay, the food was very good especially considering that it was buffet style (Splash Landings Flambos Restaurant) which isn't always to everyone's taste. The staff where very helpful and the service was brilliant.

The only downside to this hotel is the noise that emanates from the central heating pipes, I awoke every hour to the sound of the heating or the plumbing from a nearby guest utilising the bathroom. This made everyone too tired to fully enjoy the park the next day which was a shame.

The breakfast food served at the Alton Towers Hotel was brilliant in the morning and just what we needed after a disturbed nights sleep and we where spoilt for choice between a variety of breads, cereals, pastries and a full English breakfast not to mention the juices, teas and coffees.

The monorail to and from the park is really easy to get to from the Hotel and the theme park is second to none. I would recommend this Hotel just remember to take ear plugs with you :)

Room Tip: Ear plugs to avoid a disturbed nights sleep.
