We stayed at the Hotel on the 22nd and 23rd February and on the whole the experience wasn't bad, however there were a few opportunities that needed resolving. We were 2 families and our comments are as follows:
The staff on reception were very friendly and efficient, as previously mentioned the rooms are a little tired and needing investment and the beds were rock hard !
The service at dinner in the Secret Garden Restaurant was very poor and verging on abrupt, the food was also very poor. In fact the 4 children with us aged between 6-9 couldn't even eat the fish as is was disgusting. Two adults had the burger which again was very poor, we left in a hurry leaving most of our food behind. That being said the breakfast was much better, however it was a buffet - turn up before 9am for your breakfast otherwise there may be a long wait for you.
The staff the organised the Moshi part of the experience were on the whole very helpful and engaged well with the children.
I know it was off peak going in half term in February, but in summary the service was generally slow and very functional, the food was very average and i can't help feeling that the hotel let itself down, we ended up paying almost high season prices for off season service.
We probably wouldn't return.
The rest of the experience was okay but on the whole I thought the Hotel was a little over priced, the food wasn't a very good quality for the cost. I have no problem in paying top prices provided I get the service to match and I'm afraid on this occasion we didn't.
I don't think we will be rushing back in a hurry. Its a shame because we'd heard such great things and were expecting to have a lovely time.
